Whoa! No offense, but the last time I heard about the groups' religion was that they were all atheists.

No offence taken. I beleive the guitarist was a christian, Amy Lee an Atheist and the rest I do not know about. I don't have a primary sauce for that so I could be wrong, but I am going from information gathered by the music staff at TWF Magazine when we where thinking of doing an article on the very subject (becasue the argument kept coming up).

We dropped the article in the end becasue we decided it wasn't actualy that interesting.

Well, one of the guys thanks Jesus in the album booklet (most recent) saying "all the life left in me is you" - so with that in print, it's hard to deny that at least one member is Christian. It would make me sad if Amy wasn't.

Here's a question on my mind: Does anyone know what "Tourniquet" is about? The part where she sings "Christ, my suicide" puzzles me. It could conceivably mean the metaphorical 'suicide' undertaken in baptism, yet the tone of the song makes the argument to a literal suicide attempt more compelling unfortunately.

Thoughts?

"Tourniquet" is a song originally written and sung by a Christian band (forget the name). Evanescence covered it. Essentially, it is about suicide, but from a Christian perspective. The author makes an attempt on his/her life, but, realizing their horrible mistake, turns to God an tries to repent this immensely sinful action in whatever little time they have left. Here, there is an acknowledgement of the eternal consequences of suicide- something which many songs about the subject don't address.

"Will I be denied Christ, Tourniquet, my suicide?"

Essentially, the author is asking whether they will be denied the ability to see Christ, The Father ("Tourniquet" is a metaphor for Him), or whether their attempt on there life will end up in death or not ("Will I be denied...my suicide?").

Still lost?
