What does Satan do? ^-.-^

If Satan and his minions are not everywhere, how come many Christians i know say that anything bad that happens is the Devil's work? Like me for intance. They say i am decieved all the time. I know i am not decieved, but they always say Satan is doing stuff to me all the kind all the time... Which gets pretty annoying >.<

Also, many claim that science is Satan's work. "Decieving" everyone with observed facts and such. Why is that? Does fear make people say "The Devil is everywhere!!!" or are they right that the devil/associates are everywhere?

Some even go as far as to say that Buddists and other peaceful religions are the Devil's work. A Buddist will not even kill a bug. If they are threatened with death, they will let the other person do it. They might try to escape (Who wouldnt?), but they will not defend themselves by fighting. Doesnt sound like a demon religion to me at all...

Because the "work of Satan" is to make men and women doubt and disobey God. Think of it this way, whenever you use a telephone it is due to the work of Alexander Graham Bell. Had Bell not done what he did, you wouldn't have a phone. The lie of Satan is that man does not need to listen to God. Every sin committed is the result of man believing he does not need to listen to God.

Satan is a fallen angel. Satan thought he could be God. He was cast out of Heaven. Satans' fate is to spend eternity in hell. Now, the devils' objective is to deceive people and keep them from accepting Jesus. Satan wants to take as many people down with him as possible. Satan already knows where he is going to go in the end, all he is doing now is deceiving people into sharing his fate.

God sent His son Jesus here to earth to die for our sins. Basically take our punishment. Jesus was a gift. God wants us to accept His gift and ask for forgiveness for our wrong doing. God wants us to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Satan wants the opposite.

OK! I thought Lucifer was the fallen angel and Satan was God's "devil's advocate" so to speak? Which one is the serpent?

Lucifer was an angel. When he was thrown from Heaven, he became the accuser (Satan means accuser), the father of deception. He "possessed", if you will, the serpent.

Robin is correct. Thank you for clarifying. Lucifer, Satan, the Devil are all one in the same though. They are not seperate entities. Different names for the same.

What about the thought of Jesus being Satan and he was just putting on a show so people would follow his religion? If we wanted to decieve millions, he could have done it right there.

Ok to guess where “Hell” comes from.

It is a driveled form Sheol, used in the Old Testament, to mean Grave, or Death, a place of destruction, pain, suffering, the ‘Lowest Pit’, etc. Normally associated with negative things.

Later used in the New Testament, Jesus uses a reference to Hell, (Or Hadies), to mean a place where the evil ones reside, or where the “Evil Powers” come from.

wow i think this has nothing to do with the OP... i think we are a bit off track.

Just know... in almost everything that 'exalts itself against the knowledge of God' probably has something evil medaling in it.

Also whatever door we open to him will have evil medaling in it. Along with that you reap what you sow.

But know that satan is out to devour you.. so if you open the door he is gunna go for you. Just be wise and keep those doors closed and locked.

Get saved , sanctified and set free. I found this is one of the most awsome things about being saved and having the Holy Spirit it me. I can have protection and a cure for that nasty thing the devil and his dumb menions. I have the power and authority in me to claim my freedom. I am now a fighter in God's army and i know my leader is stronger than the devil can ever be.

I would agree with Vegas, but i bet lots of others here would disagree that Satan doesnt exist =P

In debate, the best way to defeat your opponent is to know thier material. But how can you know your enemy if the 'evil' things that they do could be anything? How do you know that this or that is the devil's work? And if something is called evil when it really isnt, what kind of consiquences are there for it then?

An example of a non-evil evil thing that in Medival times they believed. Music in B scale was not permited in Church because it was Satan's music. The only reason it was called 'evil' is because if you have every played a B scale, it sounds really weird =P
