What Does It Take to Make It to Heaven?

What, in your opinion, must you do in this life to make it to Heaven in the next? And I seek specifics (e.g., ten comprehensive must-do's). Please opine and/or refer to scripture.

Faith and Works.

Faith is believing in God, his creation, and that he sent his only son Jesus to die on the cross to save us from sin. And that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one God.

Works is living the moral path based on the laws God gave us himself.

Faith and Works are because of God's graces that we will be granted Salvation. We do not earn Heaven. It is only by his gifts.

As a human I don't think I would want the responsibility of telling you 10 rules, because I could be mistaken. BUT I BELIEVE THAT YOU MUST ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR IN ORDER TO GO TO HEAVEN. CHRISTIANITY is the only religion that says you are not saved by your own actions and works. You must accept Jesus and his sacrifice for you. You cannot save yourself without him.

3 Know you can't pay for it. Eph 2:8-9, Titus 3:5

It appears, according to scripture, that you don't have to "do" anything.

To answer the question, you first have to understand what Heaven is. I am of the opinion that it is not a place, but a condition of the soul. Heaven is a return to harmony both within oneself and with the Almighty.

Things like hate and anger impede that goal. Love brings it closer. So there's basically one way to return to Fullness of God.

Love God, and love your neighbor as yourself.

Firat u have to understand why God put us here. the angels stood before God every day and yet 1/3 of them rebelled against God because they WANTED what God would not allow and they WANTED it MORE than they WANTED God. if they would have WANTED god MOST they would have never rebelled. we r here because of what the angels did. we r here to be tested and tried , molded and made ready for heaven, God will not have any more rebellion in His kingdom. to truly have God He MUST be the MOST IMPORTANT of anything or person to u and that includes urself. the young rich man thought he had God until Jesus told him to give up what was MOST IMPORTANT to him then he chose his money. if God is not the MOST IMPORTANT to us then we will be like the 1/3 of angels and the young rich man. What is the MOST IMPORTANT to us? it is what u will give up all else to get, it is (in God's case) the one thing u will trust so much in that if He were to say to u (give up all and go to mongolia and be a missionary , take nothing with u, trust God to supply ur needs and take care of u) then u will do exactly that . not only MUST God be the MOST IMPORTANT to us but we must become like JOB in the old testament, Job will never rebel against God. you say if u reach heaven u will not rebel against God . WHY ? we r still free willed, if god were to just zap us and make us to where we would never rebel against Him then He would be programming us and we would be robots. robots do not have a life and we would not have a life , it is a matter of quality that we r free willed. what does God do to make and mold us to be like Job? look at the story of Job but his life is an extreme the story of joseph in the old testament is more like what God will send us through. the pit, prison, and then the palace. what is the palace ? it is ur hearts desire. Jesus said we will go through the fire and that is exactly what He means. can u go through what Job or Joseph went through and not blame God or become angry with Him or not gripe about ur situation ? this is why Jesus said FEW and He meant very FEW. there r less than 2% of the church that truly has God. HOW MUCH DO U WANT GOD?

Assuming salvation is a worthwhile goal, and heaven exists, I would say the way to be saved is to respond to the call of God. That's about as specific as I would probably get with it.

First of all, I don't think we go to heaven when we die. Why? Because the bible says No man has ascended to heaven, save the Son of Man who came down from heaven. Hebrews 11 also says that David has not even ascended to heaven....and that he still sleeps.
But what do we need to do in order to be in the Kingdom of God? Repent of our sins, accept Christ, have faith in Him, and follow Him.
