What Does It Mean When a Prophet Blows on You?

Years back there was a pastor/apostle who was led by God to visit my church and a few churches in my area. He also at times manifest in the prophetic. He was preaching in the area and I was there. During worship he notice something when he saw me with my head down and came over and started looking at my face. He then did a cross on my forehead and blow on it three times. Since then for a week or so I felt my hair tingling, but it eventually went away.

What I am hundered percent sure about is that the pastor is a servant of God that was reveal to me by God several times. I know that God himself sent this servant to my church. Although it happens about two years ago, I still wonder about it. For those who are knowledgeable about this, was the method he use from deliverance ministry? What does blowing on the forehead about? Thanks in advance.

The reason I am 100% sure is because God himself reveal it to me and others. I would never say this if God himself did not show me this. I said that so people would know he is of God so he is not someone that I am supicious about. I am always cautious about these types of stuff.

I thought this was something that this method would be something the charismatic board would know about since my background is lacking in those areas.

What I thought of when I read this was it could be symbolizing the Wind of the Spirit. Jesus told them to tarry in Jerusalem and wait for the gift of the Father ( the Holy Ghost).The ydidnt know what to expect. He breathed on them. Then on the day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost came in like a rushing mighty wind. The Wind of God, or "Ruach" which is Hebrew for the "Breath" of God breathed upon you and you recieved what you needed at that time from the Lord and He began working in you..

Yeah, I've been blown on a few times over the years and always was knocked down/fell down/melted down whatever with the Holy Spirit.

It's pretty common in charismatic churchs from what I've seen. Although I haven't seen it for a while now. But that's probably coincidence more then anything else.

Has your life changed since that day? Has your walk with the Lord deepened. That is the key.

I’ve seen this little performance quite a lot, too and I usually just chalk it up to more P/C theatrics. We P/C’s do love a good show when we go to church.

I’m not saying it all is just show every time it happens. I am sure people have been led by the Spirit to do this in this past but IMO most of it is monkey-see-monkey-do schmalz (which seems to be uniquely P/C ~ our preachers do like to ham it up sometimes) and it does require P/C believers to have to exercise more discernment than the average Christian.

If blowing on your forehead enhanced your faith and helped you focus on Jesus Christ (and not on the theatrics of the preacher or the preacher himself or his bad breath), then it may very well have been God, but if, as it appears from your post, the focus of your attention was on the dramatic performance of the preacher, it may not have. It was just part of the Sunday night show.

Both of these had excellent points at pointing to the scriptural precedent for such a thing.

Below is a portion of an article on exorcism/deliverance taken from newadvent.org (a Catholic encyclopedia).

While a few very theatrical televangelists have made this sort of a "trademark" of their ministry, there is long established precedent for the practice more than 1000 years before modern P/C'ers.

I think this thread - once again - points out that the Lord is creative thus moves in various ways at different times. We have to have discernment as well as listen and obey.

I've experienced something like this twice.

Once a visiting Prophet blew on me. I went down so quickly, it surprised me

The second time, I was in the midst of our prayer team meeting. We were praying and the Lord had me start blowing in several directions in the sanctuary. It's a prophetic act.

Now that you mention it, FatherRick, I am remembering that He has led me to do this sometimes too, particularly when there is something of an impartation taking place in the spirit.

It is a release of the breathWind of the Holy Spirit directed particularly upon one person. The Wind might blow through a whole place or upon one person.....

And hmmm I think it has something to do with that person's moving in the spirit (cf John 3).......
