What does it mean to be "begotten"...?

There is a reason people do not understand what gnosis teaches. They live in parables (flesh stories of spiritual truth). Mystery appears 23 times in the NT, not once in the OT.

Gnosis is not written in parables. It is a further understanding of those who were taught spiritual truth from the Spirit. It was taught by Paul who did everything and learned everything by the Spirit. It's not a religion. It is a path.

Calling me anything doesn't matter. Names from the world doesn't phase me because I could care less. Just as Christ who was called the devil, and Paul the same, by the Jews. Gnosis glorifies the Gospel while refuting the Jews and their ignorance (that killed Christ). That's all. Orthodoxy is power on Earth. Gnosis is understanding in spirit. It's up to each to choose what path they believe is for them.

The physical truths in this world mirror spiritual truths.

Gnosticism to me, leaves behind the death and resurrection of Christ and gets wrapped up in its own wisdom.

I well understand about the mysteries.

Do you know what they mean when they say that genealogies can skip generations? In your example would that mean that if they say Bob beget Frank, could that also mean in the Hebrew that Bob could have beget 'The Line' that resulted in Frank? So that Bob could have beget Joe, who beget Frank, but saying 'Bob beget Frank' would still be correct?

If I am incorrect on that then can you please explain why (in technical Hebrew reasoning) it is often said that the genealogies can skip generations? Since they give the exact age when the begeting takes place I was under the impression that that has to be the explanation (beget 'The Line'). Otherwise I don't know how to explain how they can skip generations in genealogies! Thanks!

The books of gnosis teach no such thing.

But I answered and said to him, "Lord, do not mention to us the cross and death, for they are far from you."
The Lord answered and said, "Verily, I say unto you, none will be saved unless they believe in my cross. But those who have believed in my cross, theirs is the kingdom of God. Therefore, become seekers for death, like the dead who seek for life; for that which they seek is revealed to them. And what is there to trouble them? Gnosis teaches to embrace death, not fear it.

There is no truth in flesh, which is why it dies. The Word was truth, not his flesh.
John:
And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw the glory thereof, as the glory of the only begotten Son of the Father) full of grace and truth.

Grace and truth came by the Chrism, not his birth of flesh.

The mystery still evades you, IMO. You think like Tertullian and Irenaeus.

When speaking of the male principle, it means fathered. When speaking of the female principle, it means gave birth.

The lives of the patriarchs in Genesis are measured from the time they were begotten by their fathers, demonstrating that life begins at conception.

Jesus is the only begotten son of God, because he is the only one that God actually biologically fathered, through the fertilization of the egg of a human female. We are all God's sons and daughters, because he breathed out our spirits to create us. And thus we are all Jesus' brothers and sisters if we follow him and thus are brothers and sisters by the spirit. But Jesus is God's only BIOLOGICAL son, the only one that God sired - the only BEGOTTEN son.

What does it mean to be "begotten"...?
