Hello once again not a loaded question, just doing more research but this time I am more curious as to the emotional side of your religion. When you have accepted Jesus what does it feel like if anything? Do you feel a warmth or coldness inside of you or happiness or love? When you pray do you feel like you are talking to someone and can feel them?

Also do you belief one who embraces and one who shuns their holy spirit feels differently. Thank you for your answers and please try and keep this separate from my religion, it has nothing to do with your answers.

Well, I'd like to lie and say that I feel nothing but love and joy for God and his creation but I cannot. I have faith that one day when I die I'll be shown everything and I will feel all of the joy and love that he deserves, but so far not yet... On Earth I feel mostly coldness and confusion.

There is so much suffering, so much hate, so much unhappiness. I myself am not that happy, but then again even if I was happy and had everything I want, I would have a huge sense of guilt because there are so many other people that are not happy. All of the major religions preach on a hell (Yes even in reincarnation religions such as Buddhism- but they don't believe in an eternal hell but instead only a hell that lasts billions of years...still really bad). Hell is such a terrible and sad thought.

And as for the confusion, I feel like there is no possible way to see through the haze of sin and see God. It's frustrating. There are so many religions who claim to be correct. Even among Christianity there is so much argument over what is right and what is wrong. We're supposed to love and have an understanding for Jesus, yet all we have to go by is 2000 year old scriptures. All we can do is pray and hope to understand it all in the end.

I did not "accept Jesus" per se; I just said I can't do this myself anymore. I didn't feel much at first except that I was tolerating my situation which was pretty unbearable. I did not really notice much of a difference until a few months later.

Do you feel a warmth or coldness inside of you or happiness or love?

Not at first. But now, no matter how bad things get (and they can get pretty bad, even for a believer), I just turn my attention to God and feel his love and care. I've also noticed (and I don't know when this happened) that I truly LOVE God now. It's easy to love Jesus, but God is scary. Not anymore though - he's like a stern father whom I know for certain loves me and has my best interests in his heart.

When you pray do you feel like you are talking to someone and can feel them?

Yes, but I can't necessarily "feel" them in a physical sense.

Also do you belief one who embraces and one who shuns their holy spirit feels differently.

Yes for I still remember when I ignored the Holy Spirit. Thankfully he continued pursuing me!

Thank you for your answers and please try and keep this separate from my religion, it has nothing to do with your answers.

Thank you for your courteous question!

This doesn't sound like the questions of a 13-year old!

People talk about "accepting Jesus", the bible doesn't, it says we are made acceptable to Him by receiving His Spirit:-

"he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour" (Titus 3:5-6)

"they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:4, 33, 39; 10:44-48)

People can & do feel peace, power etc before and after that, but it's not just down to your feelings, God is bearing independant witness - the new tongue signifies the new heart.
Then you start to understand that what God is like, what he can do and you have a love, joy and peace you never had before, not based on emotions.

If you really want to understand, you are going to have to receive it yourself!

1Cor. 2:11: For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Interesting to see how varied the answers are thus far.

R3quiem : I here you Although as humans we have millions of different ideas which disagree with one another, it is to be expected, we just need to stop fighting over them and find some tolerance.

ContentInHim: No thank you.

AllTalkNoAction: Thank you. I am what people would say intelligent and mature for my age, shame it sometimes makes you feel more stunted then anything. So you don't have the holy ghost in you until you accept Jesus?

Other way round, you don't have Jesus until u have actually received the Holy Spirit, as detailed in scripture.

Our relationship with God doesn't depend on our feelings.
Yes - I do feel His presence, and am very grateful to Him for that.
But when i don't 'feel' anything, He is still there - He doesn't change!
Our feelings can depend on so many things - whether we are hungry, tired, worried etc.
God's love is constant - however we feel.
So i praise him for the times when i feel him near me - but I am even more grateful that he is near me even when i don't feel Him!!

God bless you.

Dear Demian. Like you said, there will be different answers, different feelings of different ways of valueing. If I may point out, Demian, the best way is always to find out for yourself. Jesus died for all, and Jesus loves us all equal, if you sincerely want to find the right way, ask Jesus. He will guide you with love and patience, and a better Friend, you will Never find. " Ask and you will be answered, look and you will find," thousands of Christian men and = women have done so, and they can, and will testify to the truth of this. What will you feel? you will have Jesus`s Love, Joy, and Peace, and will feel safe in the Company of a most dear Saviour. I say this humbly and with assurance, and send greetings. Emmy, sister in Christ.

I am not asking to be converted, just curious as to what, if anything Christians feel. I do not wish to sound rude as this is your domain and not mine but please refrain from preaching.

I don't HAVE to but I prefer it. People see I am a Satanist and assume I am working off an agenda. People see I am an atheist and satanist and will assume my questions are loaded and people see my age and assume me to be too young to comprehend things, it just makes life easier.

physically - electrical, energizing - not painful but burning fire always comes to mind.
Emotionally - relief and peace when headed in a greement with scripture. Pain and nausea when I'm walking contrary and draining too.
Spiritually - whole

I think I am strange in my experience when I was baptised, it felt like I was broken. Like I had given up and had to ask for help. This is something I know is usually looked down on in society is young men who should be able to pull themselves up by the bootstraps to accomplish their goals. (I was 21 at the time) One thing I do remember very clearly was when I came up out the water was that something was diferent. Maybe it was the way the other Christians looked at me or the fact that I took the fact that I proclaimed Him Lord very seriously and that changed my view. With time, understanding, and reading the bible I grew to know Jesus and try to fathom how He worked in my life.

Inside I feel peace. I know suffering, pain, confusion, weakness, and other undesireable feelings but the overwhelming peace reminds me that all that bad stuff will pass. Knowing that the bad stuff will go away also makes it much easier for me to enjoy the good times. (Before I turned to Christ I had a hard time feeling happy or good about things without feeling guilty).

I know you didn't ask this question specifically but there have been a few occaisions where I was confronted with some kind of obstacle that I needed to overcome but I was afraid to tackle it. Test in school that I didn't think I could pass, or dealing with an extremely angry and confrontational person. During these times I have had a overwhelming confidence wash over me. What ever I was supposed to overcome or accomplish I knew I could, because I knew Jesus was right there with me.

Praying...for me when I pray it always feel like there is a kind friend or wise elder listening patiently and attentively. Waiting til they got the full story before offering advice.

If you have anymore questions please ask, I will be happy to try to answer then the best that I can.

I became a christian at 22, and I just had a baby. Becoming a christian gave me so much gratitude, thankfulness for life, rather than hatred I used to carry. I was also thankful to allow myself to cry, even though I do it privately still, I never used to let myself do that before, but after learning Jesus' ways, it is natural, and He cried. I was raised not to cry or really even allowed to express myself, when I did, I got a lot of criticism that I built up anger, that is not healthy in my experience. I didn't feel a physical warmth or coldness, but I guess in emotional sense, I did feel love and connected, with God first, then with others, seeing them as He sees them. There are quite a lot of ways He sees people if you continue in Bible studies, including Old Testament and New (many avoid the Old Testament, I believe we learn a lot from past mistakes though).
When you pray do you feel like you are talking to someone and can feel them?
I am happy to not be alone. I experienced a life-and-death situation, and I felt totally alone when I was almost killed right before I became a Christian. The thought of just dying and being alone was horrifying to me. Now with Jesus and HIs words, I am happy He is here and to acknowledge Him. He made all earth, moon, sun, atoms, molecules, I am sure He is with me too, through His words and Holy Spirit of Jesus, we learn more of Holy Spirit with His Scriptures and being a doer of His teachings and ways.

Also do you belief one who embraces and one who shuns their holy spirit feels differently.
Do you mean who shuns the Holy Spirit the Bible talks about? (it sounds strange since you say "their holy spirit" instead of Jesus' holy Spirit). We need the Holy Spirit that Jesus had, God also gives us a conscience that will affirm the Holy Spirit too if we are sensitive and will humble ourselves.
Thank you for your answers and please try and keep this separate from my religion, it has nothing to do with your answers.
your welcome, thank you for asking respectfully.

I think the most noticeable thing I feel is a sense of peace and satisfaction in myself. Swiftly followed in close second by a great appreciation of my relationships and people's actions in life towards themselves and other living creatures. Other things would be a very peaceful emotional state, a reassurance that my life is in good hands and a sense that I am doing right in my life.

Cheers,

I agree. One of the first things I noticed was a stability. Less fear and anxiety, less self-conscious thinking, less self-deprecation. A sense of assuredness that doesn't always make sense.

I have had times where I feel more energetic and happy, but I suspect that's more related to being revved by good friendships and new experiences. When I feel emotionally low, I still have a stability within me that keeps me from worrying about the low creating its own set of troubles.

Everyone has different stories because God knows us as individuals. He knows our concerns and worries, He works with our aspirations. A person who is overly stressed will feel release, a person who lived with condemnation from family might feel love and acceptance (oh geesh, what does that say about me when I already admitted stability!)

For instance, you might have seen Holy Laughter on television. While this is a highly controversial phenomenon, the times I have seen it happen spontaneously, the people had been under a lot of stress. It was a much-needed release, whether it was theologically dangerous or not.

Some people sit in church and are overwhelmed by how they cry in the service. Healing goes on -- what might take us years of therapy or physical therapy sometimes happens without effort or even intent.

It's very certainly different for everyone.

Yes, after one accepts Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and repents and then asks for the Holy Spirit one will start feeling differently. Immediately or slowly but surely(depends on the individual)- you will have Gods love inside your heart - unconditional love. A human doesn't naturally have this type of love - but just human love - which only lasts so long. I have been a christian for 27 years - and the world now looks like a spiritual trash can. This is because Gods pruns you like a tree spiritually - and the contrast from the world to Gods nature is more and more evident.

You will start taking on Gods nature - which is vastly different from human nature. Its a lifelong, lifestyle - as one dies daily spiritually to our human nature and takes on Christ's nature.

This all will occur when one reads the Bible, prays and makes an effort to let the Holy Spirit do this. God won't force this - but wants our whole heart. He gave His life now we need to give ours out of love for him.

Feel free to email me anytime for more questions.
