What does having 96% chimp dna mean to you?

so this isnt a car if it has a self replicating system and made from organic component according to your criteria:

220px-Wiki_libra.jpg
The illustration is of a car, not of a self-replicating organic system. Cars are not self-replicating organic systems.

As I said, if you have questions about self-replicating organic modes of transport and what to call them, try asking about horses - oh, wait... they already have a name - horses

No, as I have explained many times, it is impossible for cars to have babies. If I see a car have a baby that grows to be an adult car, I will think I have transported to a different universe with different physics, in which case all bets are off as to what physics may be like in that universe.
Alternatively, try to wake up, or seek psychiatric help...

But if xianghua calls a horse a "car" that will prove that the horse is designed. That seems to be his line of argument.

i talking about this object, just with living traits:

220px-Wiki_libra.jpg

you will conclude design or not in this case? i will conclude design of course, even if it has a living traits.
would it have living cells, DNA, a heart, and lungs, and reproduce by having babies that grow to adults? Then it would not look like that.

I know some people like to point out how close our species is to chimps and use this as evidence that God doesn't exist but would you really come to this conclusion on your own? If God created The universe, chimps and humans. Why couldn't he have used similar methods when creating chimps as us.

I was watching a video about 15 body parts that we were supposed to lose over the next 500 years due to evolution and it had me starting to have some atheist sayings run through my mind and made me just ponder a bit. I eventually came to the conclusion that if God created humans and chimps then we should expect similarity between two created things God made right?

So what do things like the closeness of our dna to chimps, and the fact that we have certain body parts that we don't even need mean to you in regards to your belief in God or lack of belief?

...it means we are evolving, but unlike Darwin, I'm assuming that we are physically evolving necessarily for the better (assuming God gives us that much more time to continue to do so ...)

I often wondered why little kids behaved like monkeys?
They play on monkey bars until they're old enough to use monkey wrenches.

hmm I would say that this is not wholly true but since I can't articulate or remember what was said fully by the expert I listened to I will link a recent sam harris podcast that talked about the matter, maybe some here would enjoy it. it's only 48 mins.

Google "designer babies". It's amazing we can do stuff like that.
Then there's also genetically manipulated food these days.

There's also the DNA alterations when we for example remove certain cancer causing genes from embryo's etc.

The amount of stuff we can do, will only grow each year.

We wouldn't be able to do any of that, if we didn't properly understand how DNA works.

Ow boy, do they have better short term memory...
It's actually quite amazing what they can do...

Here's that other experiment I was talking about, with the box and the "unecessary movements" that human childs just continued to do, while chimps were "smart enough" to not bother with them and go straight to the food

realy? so if you will find an object like this one (just that made from organic components and has a self replicating system):

220px-Wiki_libra.jpg

you will not consider it as a car?

So, if we would find an object like "that one, only completely different"?
Well, then it would be completely different and continuing calling it the same name, would be kind of useless.

Why would one want to act like our distant ancestors, when humans have evolved brains that do so much more?

all it need is a self replicating system with variations and organic components. you will not consider it as a design product?

Because we need to take a break now and then (and we tend to be lazy when we can be). Now, where did I leave that banana? ;)

Except it won't. Part of a car's physical appearance and function is a result of its physical makeup. You can't change the entire physical makeup of something and have it retain the same appearance, design or function.

Apparently the universe inside your head works a lot differently than the real one.

Because that's how matter works. Things like physical appearance, function, etc is a result of the fundamental physical properties of something.

I suggest reading up on basic physics and/or chemistry if you really don't understand this.

a car that made from different components isnt a car?

"Components" is too loose a term. You're talking about changing the fundamental materials, properties, literally everything that makes up a car. When you completely change something into something else, it's no longer the same thing.

This is how the universe works. You can either accept that and accept reality, or you can keep imaging your own fantasy universe where everything works different. But again, your imagination is not real life.

so if we had something that look like this (just with living traits) you cant say its a car anymore?:
