I read so many times "the Lord spoke to me about this...", "God was speaking to me about that..." What does God talk about? Share, share...

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

everything,
the bible says he has a specific number for every hair on your head, thats how interested he is in every little detail of your life.
he speaks to my pastor about drinking too much pepsi and how he lays his shoes in his closet.
he speaks to me about picking up french fries off the floor when i drop them at work, and not just sweeping around things but doing the job right.
if it is a part of your life, God is interested in it and wants to be a part of it.
i mean, theirs just something about you he likes, i mean, GOD JUST LIKES YOU.
he created me for his own pleasure, not becuase he needed me or anything, he just said "i think ill like that guy Lee, so ill make him."
he made us for no other reason except that he just likes us.
and he is so in love with us that he sits with anticipation and frenzy hoping well let him be part of our lives.
thats how to pray without ceasing like the bible says, pray about everything.
becuase if its in our lives, God wants to be a part of it.
it just takes time and changing to be able to hear from him, becuase we have gone so many yearrs growing more and more distant and unaware of him.

I think there are different ways God talks to His people.
1. Through the word. I used to take long walks and just pray (talk) to God. So very many times I would be reminded of a verse that applied to the talk. This can happen when studying the word as well, where something just strikes you. For sceptics, this is your conscience. For believers, this is God.
2. Through other people. Apply the above.
3. Through direct word. This would be like when God tells me that someone is going to have a severe accident it care is not exersiced. I issue the warning and a potentially deadly accident is avoided. This type of talking is usually for the body as discussed in Acts. It can be warning, encouragement, etc.
4. Through healing of the spiritual. This includes things like peace that passes all understanding. Joy when others would be devistated, etc.

becuase when you begin to have a relationship with God and know him, how he feels, how he works down to a very intamite level, you can begin to tell the diffrence.
Gods voice doesnt feel like my own conscience.
its just something you have experience for yourself.
and through time and walking with God, youll begin to be able to know the diffrence.
youll begin to be able to discern the diffrence between, you, God, and the devil, and many other voices in this world.
An omnipotent God, has the ability to make himself known and recongnised apart from other vioces.
like my pastor said,
you could blindfold him and stand him in front of 100 women, and 1 of them being his wife, and let them all say his name, and he could tell you every time which voice is the voice of HIS wife, becuase he knows her so intamiltly.
like my friend sherry,
i have memorised how she feels, how she smells, how she sounds, how she moves, and many other things about her that only come from a long time of close friendship, that enable me to distinguish her apart from others on a deeply comprehensive level.

actually God's voice doesnt sound like any voice ive ever heard or felt before.

And when we become redeemed, our redeemed nature is moving under the direction of the Holy Spirit. So even when it is our hearts directing us, it comes from the Lord who transforms us into willing vessels who understand what the Lord requires of us. It's a lifetime journey, and an adventure.
What does the Lord speak to me about? Spending all I have for Him. Loving people more zealously. Giving more of my time and efforts for His glory. Supporting those who are discouraged or disheartened. Sharing His word and thoughts. Wisdom. Knowing how much information to give to which Christians, or how much of the Lord's word to give to the unchurched. It's fun IMO.

God's word is written. When people say God tells them to do something all you have to do is compare what they say with the Bible to see if they are probably on the level.
