More of an opinion question. When I was little and someone talked about God I pictured him looking like Ariel's father (King Triton) in the movie "The little mermaid". My mother once said she thought He would look like a bald man in white robes.

When you think about God, what do you see? A man? A woman? Some kind of heavenly light? ?????

At this moment in time I don't put an image to God, I just see Him as being there and when I will see Him, He will be majestic and it will be awesome.
But I have viewed God with an image. One time I saw Jesus as being a lamb. I have also seen Jesus as how He is described in Revelations where fire is in His eyes and a sword is coming out of His mouth. I have also seen God as a King where colours of Gold and beautiful colours shine from Him, it's a very spectacular sight. I have also seen God coming to Earth where He is dressed in a white garment. He has long grey hair but it shines and it looks like it has diamonds and pearls in. His face, however, is young. While His hair brings across a majesty and aura about Him, His face shows youth and peace. That's what I've seen.

Hobo out.

Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse

Colossians 1:15
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

1 Timothy 1:17
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 11:27
By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.

John 14.9
Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

Exodus 3.13-14
13 Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"
14 God said to Moses, "I am who I am . [2] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.' "

Hmmm...not really sure. But I think that God manifests himself to each of us differently...in whatever way is necessary.

For example, the story of Jacob wrestling the man/angel/God (Genesis 32). Jacob first sees only a man and they wrestle through the night, neither refusing to submit to the other. In the book of Hosea, the 'man' whom Jacob wrestled is referred to as an angel. Later in the same chapter of Genesis, Jacob asks the name of the 'man'. The 'man' refuses to give his name but Jacob replies that he had "seen the face of God." Jacob wrestled with God in the form of a man. [The purpose of this wrestling match was merely to show Jacob that he must stop relying upon himself and give himself fully and completely to God, and there he would find his strength]

John 1:18 says that no man can look upon God (in his spiritual form) at any time...at least while we exist here on Earth. But God made himself visible to many Biblical people. The Bible says that God walked with Adam in Eden...that God led Lot out of Sodom by the hand. Jesus said that when you look upon Him, you look upon God.

Okay, rambling, sorry. I guess that I believe that God can manifest himself into whatever physical form is necessary. As far as a spiritual form, I have no idea. A warm, bright light, filled with every color imaginable? Something like that anyway.

Remember that movie, Michael...John Travolta as the angel, you know? Well, remember how all the women loved to be near him because of the way he smelled...like Grandma's sugar cookies to one, like warm apple pie to another? I think God will be something like that to each of us. The best smell, the most beautiful face, etc that each of us could ever imagine.

Love, Heather

I imagine God as being all-powerful kindly old loving father That went I'm praying befoe bed or in church, then standing beside me and understanding how i'm feeling. But right now I think he's just there with me and never leaving me nor forsaking me. But one day in heaven I will see the face of God.

When I was a child, I always pictured G-d as a large, round circle (this was His face & body combined), dark brown in color and with two arms (no legs). He always had a stern look on His face.

Today, I see Him as more of a collection of brilliant colored lights.
