  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've heard someone describing themselves as antitheist atheist? What would this mean?
Atheists is just a shortened word for Anti-Theist..

So they are the same in truth..

But i would say an athiest would elongate the word and declare themselves Anti-Theist to indicate they are hostile towards religious people and will get agressive towards Theists when they cross paths with one..

"Antitheism has been adopted as a label by those who regard theism as dangerous, destructive, or encouraging of harmful behavior."
from Antitheism - Wikipedia
What "atheism" means, you have already been explained countless times by countless people here.

On this forums atheist people seem to appreciate antitheism, so antitheism too is closely related to atheism.
1. Take a logic101 course. Seriously.
2. Let go of the generalizations.
3. Abstain from drawing conclusions from what "seems to...".

Your thinking lacks precision, and this affects your conclusions dramatically.

But I guess what you actually want to tell us here (as in all of your threads): You don´t like atheism. That´s ok with me.

I don't think it's ok with you, otherwise you wouldn't reply to my posts.

As for the point 2: Are you suggesting that the majority of the atheists on this forum don't agree with antitheism?

I am replying to your attempts at stringing arguments together - which are usually faulty.
Your preferences and your emotions are your personal business and thus irrelevant for any discussion.

No. Point #2 merely suggests that you´d to better let go of your sweeping generalizations.

If you want to find out the percentage of antitheists on this site, the easiest way would be to make a poll. Put me on record as not being an antitheist.

If I've learned anything here on ChristianForums.com, it's that if an atheist goes on and on attacking Christianity over and over again, it means that atheist secretly believes in Christianity.

So if a Christian goes on and on attacking atheism over and over again, what does that mean? ;)

How you could talk about God and not taking into account emotions? You cannot possibly talk about Christian God without preferences and emotions.

Hello

I think this line of thought is unreasonable. If i were to secretly love something i hate does that mean i secretly hate something i love?

What motivates someone to do something can only be known by the individual - unless he tells you.

Thank you

I've heard someone describing themselves as antitheist atheist? What would this mean?
I would suppose someone who actively tries to suppress one's ability to hold religious views.

How you could talk about God and not taking into account emotions?
I can do it quite fine.
You cannot possibly talk about Christian God without preferences and emotions.
Try to focus. You were making assumptions as to why and what about your posts I responded to, and I corrected you.
Whether or not you are able to discuss without being emotional about the subject, is your problem. I am responding to that which lends itself to discussion.
