  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ok I started feeling quickening at about 16 weeks I believe, I felt it quite strongly one night about 4 weeks ago and off and on after that. I was very active on my vacation which has now been nearly a couple weeks ago, we were out in the ocean a lot swimming and riding waves on inner tubes but I was very protective of my tummy. However, after our vacation I hadn't noticed it as often, should I be worried? Did any of your experience a period where you didn't feel your baby as much?

Hm, you are due just a few weeks behind me, I think... At this point I don't get too concerned. I just try to pay attention and make sure I feel movement every day. Some days it is more than others for whatever reason. Also, if you are off vacation, are you now busier/more preoccupied? If so then it could really be that you're just not noticing it as much. You probably have your ultrasound soon, right? That always helps to calm any worries.

I'm pretty sure I feel a little flutter everyday but I do get a little busy and probably miss it sometimes. I've got an ultra sound on Tuesday which I am very anxious about, excited to find out the sex but anxious to make sure everything is ok in there :). I guess it's just that everything has gone so smoothly so far for me and I'm just afraid something is going to go wrong.

I wouldn't be too concerned as long as you are feeling movement each day. There were times in my pregnancies that the babies just weren't as active and times when I was so busy that I didn't notice. I always felt it more at night when I was ready to go to sleep or if I was laying on my belly. If you don't feel like you are getting enough movements and are concerned then call your OB, they are used to it. Hope the US goes well on Turesday and that the baby is positioned in the right way to see the sex :)

I am just over 16 weeks and have just started feeling little flutters every once in a while as well. But I only notice them if i'm staying still. If you're slender you can start feeling them earlier on even if you are a first time mom. At least that's what i read in my pregnancy book. People start feeling movement anywhere from 14-22 weeks- average though is around 18 weeks.

I started feeling movement at about 17 weeks, but real kicks only from about 22 weeks. Now I feel her several times a day, no mistaking her movements any more! But I definitely wouldn't worry about lack of movement before about 22 weeks, remember he/she may be moving about like crazy but you just can't feel it, either because the baby's touching the placenta (few nerve endings) or they just have enough room to move about without giving you a sharp jolt!

I was so relieved to find out my precious baby boy is hiding behind the placenta which happens to be in front. He's very active but I just can't feel him as often because of that, although he was giving me some little kicks this afternoon. It's so great to know everything is just fine!

It happened to me too!

I started feeling him around 18 weeks for a few weeks and then between 20 and 25 weeks I felt next to nothing.. just 1 kick a day maybe... then weeks 26-30 have been kick filled.

It only started at the beginning of my 29th week to kick hard enough to see or feel from the outside of my belly! :)

I LOVE THIS PART! :)

Oh.. and my placenta is on the back.. so I guess he was just gentle with his movements enough that I could hardly feel them.

I love feeling his movements!
