What do you think of Robert Jordan?

I didn't like the characters.

Why do all the women have to be so snotty and arrogant, giving a pompus sniff of the air when a wool-head of a man goes out of his place.

I hated Matt as a character, way too predictable. Rand and Perrin were alright.

How many times did Nynave tug on her braids or smooth out her skirt?

I agree, there were a lot of times when the women really gave the men a hard time. If a woman acted like them in real life, she'd soon have no friends left!

I've always enjoyed the Matriarchal view of society in fantasy.

But your correct happymomof3, He took it a bit far.

I made it through about 7 of these books but by the time i got that far, i didn't care what happened to the characters except maybe perin. IMO i thought he would never wrap up the story and i had spent hours and hours of my life for what? plus he can never kill a character and let them stay dead. well this is a rant but anyway there it is. now tad williams can write lots of story lines and can keep them well balanced.

Reasons RJ won't stop his series:

1. He needs the money.
2. His editor needs the money.
3. He has nothing better to do.
4. His editor has nothing better to do.
5. He has to stop?!
6. He still has paper to use.
7. He hates superior women.
8. He hates men.
9. O.K. He loves superior women.
10. He still hates men.
11. He hasn't used up all the words in the English language yet.
12. He needs the money.
13. He's on a roll...(Yes, a bad pun!)
14. He's good at book signings.
15. He believes in immortality. And so do his characters.
16. His books make good doorstops.
17. His books make people think you like to read. A lot.
18. The Wheel never ends...
19. His books are classics like Gone With The Wind: The Extended Version
20. Last, but not least, He's making money!

I read an interview where he said he knew how the series ends but he doesn't know how to get there yet. That was a while ago, he's obviously made some progress.
