What Do You Think About This Quote?

i posted this at a creationists only forum somewhere else, and i got a huge response from it, so i'd thought i'd post it here.

i read the "creation vs. evolution" forum here at CF every now and then and i stumbled across this quote:

Nothing unites christians and atheists like a good, old-fashioned creationist

what do you think?

Actually, most atheists try to maintain the idea that they ARE consistant.

No, that is the TE who argues that. :0)

Militant atheists (those who want to convince others to abandon God or aggressively defend their atheism) point to the literal reading of Scripture and its complete inconsistency with the actual physical evidence and say "see there, the Bible can not be true, then". So, they are in lock-step with the Creationists in their joint pronouncement: "if evolution is correct, then the Bible isn't, and vice-versa".

But it is true that most atheists are not militant, however, and will concede that only a literal reading of Scripture is inconsistent with the evidence and acknowledge (however reluctantly) that there are other ways of reading Scripture which completely conforms with the evidence.
