  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you think about this gathering?

I don't see a single messianic jew on the list of endorsees. This troubles me greatly. When are christians going to embrace their brothers in Israel over those who harrass and persecute their brothers in Israel?

PROTESTANT, CATHOLIC AND JEWISH LEADERS PROCLAIM ANNUAL DAY TO FOCUS ON PEACE IN JERUSALEM

Protestant, Catholic and Jewish leaders from around the world are endorsing an international "Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem," to be held annually on the first Sunday of October, this year on October 3. People all around the world will be asked to pray in harmony for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Endorsers of this effort include its co-founders, Jack Hayford and Robert Stearns, plus NAE President Ted Haggard, Mission America Chairman Paul Cedar, CBN Chairman Pat Robertson and President Michael Little, National Religious Broadcasters Chairman Glenn Plummer, Ravi Zacharias, Kenneth Copeland, Jane Hansen, Gary Bauer, Dean Jones, Kay Arthur, David Bolthouse, Michael W. Smith, Pat Boone, Janet Parshall... (see the list below).

The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Metzger, has given his full endorsement of this effort, as has Ehud Olmert, the former mayor of Jerusalem, who is now the Vice Prime Minister, and most importantly, the newly formed "Christian Allies Caucus" of the Israeli Knesset. The Roman Catholic Church was represented by Monsignor William Showali, the personal representative of the Latin Patriarch in the Old City.

According to Robert Stearns, recognition of the day is growing quickly. "Leadership Committees are already forming in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and other nations to join with us in this global effort. There has been communication from church leaders from as far away as Australia who plan on mobilizing believers in their nation," says Stearns.

Jack Hayford says, "We are living in a sobering moment in history that calls us, as people of God to fulfill our biblical mandate to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and to stand against the alarming rise of anti-Semitism. We are not to be passive; we are called to pray with passion, to intercede. This is not about politics; this is about the Word of God."

Dr. Ravi Zacharias adds, "Prayer is the only means that will ultimately change hearts in this troubled part of the world."

Thousands of pastors are already cooperating in this call and have committed their congregations to participate on Sunday, October 3. See more at www.DayToPray.org, where you can also learn of a leadership summit to take place May 20-21 in New York. Call (716) 759-1058 or go to www.DayToPray.org for more information.

I think that it may never happen - for similar reasons that the US never seeks Israel as a partner in it's actions in the Middle East. To do so would alienate those they want the public to see as supporters. What did suprise me is that I did not notice any Arabs on the list....

Since December, every person in all levels of Israel's government knows that the largest shipment of aid in the history of Israel (about $30 million now) has come from messianic jews working with a lot of people on that list through the Joseph Fund and it's "christian" face, the Israel Relief Fund. The MJAA had to put on a christian face for the politicians to receive this aid because they certainly couldn't be seen receiving help from messianic jews! They also know that this is only the first of 35 ships.

I know a few of the people on that list and that's why it surprises me that there is absolutely no messianic leadership on it. I'll call them and ask what is up....but I was just wondering what you guys think about it. It looks good on the surface but here is my problem with it;

Whenever christians support non-moshiach-aware Israel to the exclusion of their own brethren in the land, it sends a signal that we don't care what the secular and orthodox authorities do to them. It invites harrassment and persecution.

If all christian groups would INSIST that messianic believers in the land be included in any/all aid which we send to Israel, then Israel would have to acknowledge and respect them. They would probably be protected from anti-missionary groups and allowed to be citizens. If we would INSIST that the messianic body is an important part of "us", then Israel would have no choice but to recognize them if they wanted to continue having large groups of tourists spending money in the land.

In other words, when people like John Hagee says he loves Israel but shows any contempt whatsoever toward messianic jews (so he won't offend Israelis) this has the effect of isolating messianic jews even more in the land. It say that the christian church doesn't give a whit about what happens to them.

That has to stop!

this is going to happen.

that is a great point!

Except for some of the christian pastors who are of Arab descent, like Zacharias, there are no arabs or muslims.

Apparently it is just christian/jewish relations. So why are they excluding messianic jews who should be the bridge between them?

ya'know - I just really don't have a problem with that - they will recognize us - the way G-d wants and when G-d wants - and G-dsilling, not before then..... It is written, so let it be done....

We will have persecution - and do - from both "sides of the fence" - if YOU have been given such a burden it may well be that HaShem has annointed you to do something personally. I don't think we can realistically expect the "churches" to do so.

You know I gave this some thought and you know what I think it's about?
Not that these men and wommen don't want peace in Isreal because I beleive they do.
Not because they don't want the Jewish community to come to Christ because I beleive they do.

But what I think this is about is denominationalism. If the Jews are to beleive in Christ as Messiah then they want them to be Baptist, or AoG or Methodist or Catholic or just about ANYTHING but Messianic.

When you boil down demonnations it's all a numbers game. Just more religion and I and convinced Y'shua really hated religion a lot.

Anyway thats my 2 sheckles comming from a phone call from a church that wants me to tone down my messages and style because "I am too emotional"

Sorry to disapoint them but
Y"SHUA STILL EXCITES ME! I GOT TO SHOUT IT OUT!!!!!

:topic:

Tough!

I got a G-d that Heals, I got a G-d that cares, I serve a LIVING G-D!!!!!!

Bless you Ha'Shem for truely your mercy IS new everymorning
let all of Y'sreal shout your praises.

Likely they wouldn't have liked Mirriam or David either too Radical too noisey

Then there are people like me, who is that a spiritual jew is what the Paul was talking about. It takes the spiritual mind of a jew to understand the full implication of the promises, prophecies, Yeshua, ceremonial sabbaths, Sabbath, ten commandments, dietary importance of God's laws, and so much more. "For by one offerin he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost aslo is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This si the covenant that I will make with them after those days, said the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will iI remember no more. Now where remission of these, there is not more offering of sins. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, buy a new an living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh...." Heb 10:14-25.

Christians have taken on a Roman flavor when they read scripture, because their mind has not been converted to the spiritual jew that Paul tried to tell them was so important to their understanding of the truth. Romans are left at the cross, christians today are at the cross.

The Jewish people who have yet to accept the messiah was Jesus, find that the world is crushing down on them even though they have gotten back Jerusalem. They are pushing further and further, to get the temple back; this is their reasoning, if they get it back then all will be well with their relationship with God. The Jewish people are at the temple on earth spiritual and see not what God has provided for them is far better through Jesus.

We have the benefits of being spiritual jews. Jewish heritage rich in many things, and Jesus who gave us the spirit of truth. Let us go boldly into the holiest of holy, experience the Holy Spirit, and the truth through God's eyes.

Rev 22:14 Bless are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Is 26:2

Rev 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are writtentherin: for the time is at hand."

Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keep his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." "Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I wil come upon thee." Rev 3:3 "And tis know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of Man cometh at an hour when ye think not." Luke 12:39-40

There is many a blessings in the truth and the truth shall set you free.
