What do you see masturbating as? Sin? Sorry about all the topics you must have!

It is not a natural body function that God created us with. It is a BEHAVIOUR! such behaviour cannot occur without a thought, a sinful thought.
Haha, oh really?

It's not a natural body function?

So the fact that animals do it doesn't bother you. The fact that infants do it doesn't bother you. The fact that we've even observed fetuses stimulating themselves in the womb doesn't bother you. No, it's just a behavior that cannot occur without a sinful thought. Clearly, all these infants, animals and fetuses must be having sinful thoughts.

I'm afraid, Floatingaxe, that your position in this case is simply wrong. No amount of arguing semantics can change the fact that this is not a learned behavior and it does not inherently involve sinful thought.

For those others reading this thread, pay close attention to the standpoints people like Floatingaxe are willing to take to demonize masturbation. Continue to ask yourselves whether they are doing this because they have reached a conclusion on it after examining the evidence and reasoning with themselves, or if they're attempting to justify their belief that it is filthy, filthy, filthy.

Ok. On masturbation it's self I cannot think of any one verse taken in context that outlaws the act directyl. Cetainly it's a sin iif God commands you to breed and you'd rather spill in on the ground than make love to your wife. Then again, I can see the argument that we should ideally, be so focused on God that we need not to do it. I agree, and Paul says a similar thing about marriage. Paul indicates that while it is BETTER for a person to live the single life than to marry but that the person who marries (and therefore has sex) does NOT sin. He seems to put it under the all things are lawful but some things aren't benefitial category. So, the Question is, is it lawful but more benefial not to touch? I guess it depends on the person. Personally, if I had not masturbated before I was married I fear it might have driven me to perversion. In MY case, masturbation helped me to not be obsessed with sex all the time. I realise that vows of celebacy are supposed to allow a person more time to focus on God, but lets be honest. It is an extremely rare man who can go without a single 'release' his whole life, and that actually HELPS him focus on anything. That scene from "something about mary" had a lot of truth to it. The most honest man in the world is the one who is sexually saticfied and unless he is, he can think of little else. This is particularly true for men under 30. I'd be worried about a celebate teenage boy who didn't do it once and a while. It's normal, it's natural. Can't speak for the ladies.

God designed men and women to have [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] and for both to [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse].

Any problems with his design?

I am not wrong. If you want to self-indulge, that is between you and God. He will judge you.

Just don't preach that it is normal. We aren't animals.

You need to read, "Every Man's Battle" by Stephen Arterbrum and Fred Stoeker with Mike Yorkey.

Ephesians 5:3
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.

To a man or woman who masturbates: isn't there a hint of sexual impurity in your life, in relation to God's standard as quoted above? Get real with God today!

Anyone who has self-sex has a problem with God's design. To that person, His plan for a corresponding mate isn't good enough.

I was hoping you'd address the whole part about animals, infants and fetuses masturbating, Floatingaxe. Since, you know, it refutes your entire standpoint as masturbation as a learned behavior contingent upon sinful thought.

EDIT: In fact, here's what I'll do. You seem to miss a lot of post content entirely, so every time you reply to a post without actually addressing it I'm going to repeat the post and increase the font size by a point. The more times you fail to address a post, the harder it will become for you to ignore.

If animals do it, it isn't sin, as they haven't a Godly standard to live up to. They are not spiritual creatures. They are a lesser creation. Just the fact that you liken us to animals is revolting, to say the least, and displays a lack of knowledge about how God views us.

Little toddlers are not like adults. It feels good, but it isn't because of sin that they do it. It is self-exploration and lasts a fleeting moment in their development, and isn't sexual or sensual in any way.

As far as fetuses, I don't really believe that they do such a thing. It's just hype.

Adults who know Jesus Christ as Saviour have a responsibility before God to grow in righteousness and to abandon their sinful ways. Otherwise, there will remain an impediment to one's walk with God, and one's growth in Christ will be stunted. One never grows past the point of disobedience.

We need to stop trying to tell others what they can and cannot do and we need to focus on ourselves. Because we have greater problems and sins to be worrying about than whether a boy or girl or man or woman masturbates.

2) The "since they do it' argument is not a very good one to use. Animals are also canabals, so then will you also say its ok for humans to be canabals? Now, if not, why then will say their actions make our actions okay- they don't. Animals are just that, animals. A Christian is not an animal, and such not behave as one.

You're dodging. You said that masturbation was a learned behavior contingent upon sinful thoughts. If animals do it, it clearly is not a learned behavior.

You said that masturbation is a learned behavior, is not natural, and is contingent upon sinful thoughts. Do you concede that masturbation is natural and not contingent upon sinful thoughts now?

What you believe is irrelevant. It's been documented in the medical community and has been witnessed by ultrasound technicians on many occasions. Fetuses are clearly incapable of sinful thought or any learned behavior. Do you concede that masturbation does not require either of these things, or will you persist in your belief despite all evidence to the contrary?

I really want to know, Floatingaxe. What is more important to you: reality, or maintaining your fragile belief system?

You missed the point. Pay attention.

I'm not saying that we're animals, and so it's okay to touch. I'm saying that masturbation is natural and not a learned behavior. Animals, fetuses and infants do it. How can it require sinful thought if infants do it?

It is certainly learned behaviour in boys and men. Innately they know it is wrong, but ungodly reasoning supplants the voice of God in them.

You said that masturbation is a learned behavior, is not natural, and is contingent upon sinful thoughts. Do you concede that masturbation is natural and not contingent upon sinful thoughts now?

Never. There is nothing natural about it. You purvey a lie to weak men.

What you believe is irrelevant. It's been documented in the medical community and has been witnessed by ultrasound technicians on many occasions. Do you concede that masturbation does not require either of these things, or will you persist in your belief despite all evidence to the contrary?

Unless you are an anomalous, huge and incognizant fetus, you do not fit the description of such behaviour being in any way natural.

I really want to know, Floatingaxe. What is more important to you: reality, or maintaining your fragile belief system?

My belief "system" is not fragile in the least. I belief god;s word about it and I hold to it. God has never let anyone down who believes in Him, and He will not ever let me down concerning this toipic either.

It is a sin, plainly. God wants your full devotion nand for you to have control over yourself. Masturbation is a major problem with self-control.

Not siding either way anymore, not worth it. However, I just want to say that something being "natural" does not mean it is not "sinful". As a matter of fact, Scripture teaches are very nature is sinful, and that's why any man in Christ is a new creation and the old must pass away. Again, I don't care to be involved in this back and forth any longer, just throwing out there that being "natural" does not justify it as not being "sinful". You don't have to teach an infant to sin, to throw tantrums, to lie or bend the truth, to take things that aren't theirs or anything else; it's "natural", it's self-serving because at our core we are all that, but it's still sinful.

Much love in Christ.
