Usually nothing. If I were an apartmetn dweller I could easily have something picked out.

I do rememebr in High School the music tracher Picked out the right music and then read either Metampophysis or The Physician by Kafka.

I have to admit carefully chosen music and dim lights make a difference. Even now when the memory is well faded (not sure which work it was) I'm still grateful that this was a day class and not en evening or night class in college.

Classical or Techno without lyrics if anything at all... anything else distracts... also set on a low setting.... Classical if it's daytime and I have to be somewhere later on(such as work) Techno at night or if I have no where to be, but am sorta tired...

I myself love to listen to all kinds of instrumental music. Depending on my mood, sometimes I go with the soft sounds of Beethoven while others I will find a loud instrumental from a song that formerly had lyrics. Lately though, I have popped in the HP instrumentals a lot, because I think the a lot of emotion into whatever you are reading at the time, and can help you get rid of the constant chatter of your family for awhile >.<
