What do you like watching the most in nature?

for me, i just love staring at the clouds and the moon. They look so different during different time..

thin cloud, racing cloud cover, fluffy cloud, thick cloud cover, flimsy cloud cover...

sickly moon, full moon, half moon, scimitar-like moon, moon during day time (only the part with craters seen), bright moon...

:p

The sky is a fun thing to watch. Like you say, it changes constantly. Cloud shapes, constelations, sunrise, etc. Plus the scientific stuff is cool- cloud types, stars and planets depending on the season, etc.

If anything, though, I really like looking at mountain regions, be they green and fertil with valleys and waterfalls and stream, or be they out in the desert. No two mountains look the same, and I'm a geology nerd.

Its got to be the mountains as they are so diverse and their appearance changes constantly. On some days in the summer, a mountain may be green and inviting, but on other times of the year, clothed under a blanket of snow, the same one might look frightening and inaccessible to all but experienced climbers. Some mountains may also be rugged and glaciated on one side, whilst smooth on another, and I like how the diversity of underlying geology here has led to a great variety of colours in the rocks, depending on where you are. I can remember going walking up a couple of mountains in the western highlands, and it was interesting to see the colour of the mountains change during the walk from quartzite to red granite.

Hey!

For me...I would have to say the night sky and the storms rolling over! I just love the stars...they always seem to soothe me when i am frustrated. The storms are also i great calmer for me. When it is not night and it is stormy out, I will either go outside (before the storm hits) or watch it from my window. It is so beautiful! Both are beautiful to watch! *sigh* hahaha ^_^

I love rivers. I could sit by a river and just watch it flowing for ages.

One thing better, sitting on the river. cannoeing.

I love sunsets, I miss them. I was born in Arizona. Nightly sunsets.
So now I realize what I had.
Ohio doesn't have many special sunsets.

Sunrises, are neat too. The sun rising over a new day. But I am in work or
in bed during most sunrises.

I like sitting on my porch watching rain storms. I love listening to the thunder and seeing the lightening. I think huge thunderstorms are so amazing. Watching the snow is cool too because it just seems to drift lazily to the ground and if it's been snowing for a while, it's really pretty.

for I would have to say I have 2 favorites...
the first is sitting on the sand and watching the ocean as the sunsets and you see glimpses of suburst orange, pinks, reds, and yellows, while the breeze gently caresses your face....
the second is staring up into a clear night and seeing all the stars shine...

Oh goodness, how to choose? I love it all!!!
Skywatching, certainly: storms, sunsets, stars, you name it.
Animals (wild and domestic): Deer feeding in meadows, coyote pups gamboling about their dens, hawks in flight, horses, my dogs enjoying a good hike or a romp on the beach.
Moving water, especially the ocean. I could sit and watch and listen to the waves for hours, praying to God and worshipping Him in my heart and soul.
It's all so very wonderful. :)

I have a photo of a break in the clouds shaped like a wolf head profile! If I can track it down, I'll post it sometime. :)
