I have very, very weird taste in reading materials.

I like reading old Christian books - really, really old Christian books - like the Ante Nicene Fathers, for example (the writings of the church fathers up to AD 300); or Francois Fenelon (a 17th century French cleric). Stuff like that.

If it's newer than 300 years old, it's probably too new for me.

With love in Christ,
Grace

Hey Kelco, did you read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King?? I loved them but man, I read them over about a 20 year period. By the time he started writing them again, I had to go out and buy the first 3 books again to help me remember what was going on. Well worth the wait and read in my opinion!

I've read everything by Stephen King except the Dark Towers series (read the first one and didn't care for it). By far, I think, the Green Mile and the Stand were my favorites.

Wow Grace...those are some old books. I can't say I've ever delved into something that old but it does give me a thought.

Welcome to the Fab 40's

Yeah I did and over the same period too. I loved em. I am a pack rat so I kept all the books in the series and then kinda skimmed over the last one before I started the next one. This winter I am thinking about reading them all back to back.

Thanks, and thanks for the rep!

I'm actually a bit early, as I won't be 40 for another couple of weeks, but I thought I'd pop in anyway.

MMXII - you're moving to Texas? Let me be the first to welcome you and give you a big ol' Texas "Howdy!!!"

With love in Christ,
Grace

I LOVE to read because I usually learn so much and find it so incredibly relaxing! It's like you go into another world sometimes :0)

I hear you on this - I really appreciate authors who make the scenery and persoanlities so alive that I can actually visualize them.

Reading time is "my" time.

I'm rereading the "Left Behind" series. I absolutely LOOVE this series! If anyone else has read them and possibly has seen the movies, here's a couple of things that just struck me:

1) In the movie Cameron "Buck" Williams is played by Kirk Cameron.
2) Rearrange the letters in Chaim (Rozensweig), and you get the name of his alter-ego Micah!

If you haven't read the "Left Behind" series, I highly suggest that you do. I give it :thumbsup:
