  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you like to bake?

BROWNIES!!!!

Also, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies

cinnamon rolls

I do a lot of 'baking' of regular foods too for 2 reasons:

1. less fattening than frying
2. Frying for me is an invitation to burn down the house.....sigh....

Please don't do that! It makes an awful mess!^_^

I actually just heard of baked steak... I never knew you could bake steak before... how do you do it? My friend didn't want to give away his "secret"...lol
You mean there's a difference between baking and cooking??? oh oh...

So, I think I know possible difference, one of them goes in on the burners at the surface of the range, the other goes inside the oven. Usually I place the steak on burner and flip sides about four times. I suppose with the oven, you do a similar procedure, you just need gloves for obvious reasons. Usually I do my steak on the burner, ie I really cook it. Chicken on the other hand, I just put it inside the oven.

As for steak in the oven, I don't know if it's safe when you use veg oil, but on some kinds of steak, water can get the same job done and I don't believe it's quite as hazardous inside said oven.

But not knowing fully the difference between cook and bake?... I guess I'm in trouble now.

Bread. Wheat, cinnamon raisin, banana - any kind, I love baking fresh bread. My little charge comes flying home from school and we sit and share a hot buttered slice and talk about the day. There's something special about welcoming someone home - especially a child - to a house smelling of freshly baked bread. :)

If I'm too lazy to flip burgers in the toaster oven I'll use bake, then broil, to get both sides. Otherwise, I don't bake, although I really want to learn how to bake fudge.

Umm, fudge isn't something you bake. ;)
