no pressure to visit both his and your family on holidays (T-giving/Christmas). This year I'm working at job#2 during the day and then just hanging out with my Dysfunctional Dad's side in the evening. No pressure.

On another selfish note....one less person to buy for at Christmas (which is a good thing on my budget! lol)

No one to complain about the cats. hehe

Being blessed to have the time to really get to know Him and your identity in Him. Building that strong foundation is so important!

I can't say that mine would be strong, if there at all, hadn't I had the chance this ... umm ... 7th time around. ;) Even though it hurts, I am soooo thankful for the devotional time and know very well that it was planned by Him.

and as HoosierCanuck said...no one to complain about the dog. ;) We do as we please.

blessings.

I so agree with you, Renewme! :amen: It is not easy to live for the Lord. There are so many distractions in life. If it weren't for my recent single years, I wouldn't have the relationship with God that I do -- nor the understanding of how important a relationship with God is. As He's developed His relationship with me, I've also become more true to who I am.

I like that I don't have to cajole anyone or put up with a husband's bad moods. And I can spend my money however I please. :)

I really like that I am the boss of me, my children, my home, my money, and my pet situation. All I have to answer to is the Lord, and He is all I need anyway.
Oh, me too!!! It's just me and my adult daughter now, but still, I don't have to even share my bed with anyone!! Or make it up in the morning if I don't want to!

lol I don't make my bed either unless my mom is visiting. I wish I didn't have to share my bed with little sets of various feet poking me in the back, but I guess they are only little once. We shall endure.

Isn't that such the case!? Unbelievable how things just start to click. I have my days/weeks, yes..but for the most there is total freedom in being yourself.

The thing I like most about being single is being in control of everything. Doing what I want to do, going where I want to go, when I want. No splanin' to do. Not worrying if I said this or that wrong.

There is a certain amount of strength in being independant without needing someone else to be complete. As they say "one is a whole number". I think single life is highly underated, but I do admire those that have remained married for many years.

The most famous and worthy single person of all seems to have been Jesus.

Something to consider when you may be tempted to think of someone who places a calling in life over having a "relationship" as a "loser."

good point. thanks for that!
never thought about it...
