What do you do when you realize how meaningless life is? It's just a series of one heartbreak and depression after another. Is there any way to enjoy life again...because there's no way I could kill myself, so I'm just stuck here in my misery.
The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Read Psalm 119:81.
You always hope even when you feel crummy. God is true.
You're 19. That tends to be messy. Hang in there.
Has something happened to you?

Find a service project to do to 1) do something for someone else and 2) get your mind off your current situation.
When I was 17 I felt this way and I took a volunteer position as both a Sunday School teacher for the first and second grade and as an assistant coach for a little league football team.
It felt great to be able to "help" these kids.... It gives you a feeling of purpose. After that experience, I have always had some type of volunteer "thing" working.

Thats great, Laura! I mean it sounds like you need to get involved with peoples lives in service. We consume Gods word and take so much in but if we dont put something out we get a tummy ache. Often when we get involved with helping other people it takes our focus off of our own circumstances and teaches us how to be Christ like towards others by the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
A few tips: Wash your mind in the word of God with scripture memorization. Also get into prayer as often as you can with other Christians and pray about everything! Yes serve in some way and Ill tell ya that Sunday school is a serious blessing if you find time for that. Woohoo its a BLAST!! Lastly, if you dont already, do keep a journal and try to track your spiritual and emotional progress with it, as time passes you can see your progress and if it stays the same than get to know a church counselor at your church and discuss good times and bad times for they are there to help too.
I look forward to reading how it goes with kindergarten. Youll have a BLAST! Blessings to you.
Peace
