LOVE MacArthur, Ravi Zacharius, Norman Geisler, David Hocking, RC Sproul....
let's see, who else? Benny Hinn and Jimmy Swaggart
=0)~
There was a time when Swaggart was kinda into the Word of Faith stuff... but he recanted that error. I guess that's why he's so hard on the WoF folks now. You'd be surprised~no one works over Hinn and the Word of Faith folks harder than Swaggart. His radio station plays locally~I'm surprised how much I agree with him on stuff. His "round table" discussions are really pretty good..the cross, the cross, always the cross Swaggart is focusing on..hear him again for the first time![]()
That was Jim Bakker~Swaggart's encounter was with others...
Ok you guys realize I was kidding about the last 2 names I added, right? There was a time when Swaggart was kinda into the Word of Faith stuff... but he recanted that error. I guess that's why he's so hard on the WoF folks now.

I remember Jimmy Swaggart got caught with a prostitute once and then I think there was another sexual scandal too? Anybody remember?
No I'm not trying to hang the man for his past - I just know that's what harmed his ministry so drastically. I think he's back to preaching again, I saw him on a Christian ntwk. & I think he wrote his own prophecy bible?
(I really should take notes when I hear stuff) heh
ahhhhh ok thanks kindly

...I've gotta go to sleep ....
I feel the same way becuz of that verse too.The other is that even Paul was glad for the gospel being preached even if it was with the wrong motives. So there is something to be thankful for even when there is a serious problem there. I try to remember this when I see Benny Hinn promoting what he does. Yes he promotes a lot of lies and does a lot of damage. But sometimes, just sometimes, the gospel itself is actually preached. And that is where the power is. Even he cannot stop that from taking affect on souls. So even with all of his evil we still have something wonderful to rejoice in.
Yep! Our God is bigger than all of that! So while we should still be diligent like the Bereans, we have nothing to fear. He is truly in control.I feel the same way becuz of that verse too.
I know alot of people hammer TBN on alot of things (I'm not into the personal attacks on hair, clothing, makeup, etc.) & alot of the stuff is warrented as far as the false teachings that go on,
but alot are still helped by these ministries somehow.
It just shows me how much bigger God is than to have to only use perfect people with perfect churches, etc. He uses light and dark to reach people.
That's something I have to keep reminding myself repeatedly, that even when false teachings are abounding, He can still lead the lost out of it and into the truth.Yep! Our God is bigger than all of that! So while we should still be diligent like the Bereans, we have nothing to fear. He is truly in control.![]()
I wonder if I was rolling in cash & jewels if I might be led to preach that doctrine?God is Sovereign, even over TBN and prosperity preachers, haha.

Frankly I'd be surprised if any did, unless they're just starting out and looking for a quick buck (you know, the whole "wolves dressed as shepherds" scenario). What you'll see among the persecuted is a focus on God and His glory, not on the enjoyment of this world. They know what matters in this life and the life to come. It's something to seriously contemplate for us in the free world. So often we've forgotten the urgency of this life. While I appreciate the luxuries in my life, I often have to contemplate sacrificing them if it meant serving Christ. Would I? Will I? I don't deserve these things. They are blessings. But do they serve Him? Have I given them back to Him where they belong?Do preachers with meager incomes preach prosperity out there?
(oops, don't want to derail, sorry).
