Well this statement has sure given me pause. Has anyone ever seen Benny Hinn fall down? I don’t know. I don’t watch him that much. But in all the times I have, I never have seen him "slain" and have often wondered why.

Just curious?

I saw it in a crusade once... he laid hands on some little elderly black lady and he went flying back through the air like he had been hit with a baseball bat. His ushers/catchers helped him up and he just looked around stunned and said something to the effect of "now that little prayer warrior is a woman of God."

I do not like him. But I'm not going to judge... I'm sure this thread is just going to take off, the OP has opened a gigantic spiritual can of worms! :)
:D :D

I think if he's not against us then he's for us. I seen someone ask him to heal them and he said he can't heal anyone only Jesus. Good answer. Now I think hes a man of God. Now I don't watch him. I see him when I flip the tv sometimes and then my watch.

Jim..sucking up.. made me laugh. You might be right..

Ro 14:4 Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

That is what I think of Benny Hinn
Amen and amen. Who are we to touch or even comment against God's anointed? I am glad there are many good remarks and I haven't seen any bad ones. Benny Hinn's relationship with God isn't ours and if He's doing what the Lord is leading Him to do- more power to him.

Thank goodness, so far so good. :p

Yeah, watching his half-hour shows I've yet to see anything wrong... he does preach the same gospel and people are healed. I've heard of a couple of cases from anecdotal evidence of people who have been healed miraculously. And his preaching isn't always wacky, the other month I remember a pretty good message on Ezekiel that I felt quite at home with. It's possible that some of the weird things he's said as quoted by the theological headhunters have been said by him. I'm not sure the context is always taken into account though.

The only time I cringed a bit was when other pastors on his show would tend to praise his ministry just a bit too much, and there was a time recently when he was focusing on praying for America and as someone who doesn't come from America I have to admit, I felt it was laying it on a bit thick to talk up the importance of America the way they did. Otherwise though, I have found no problems.

He's said things like "I am not the healer, i am nothing. Jesus is the healer. You could have stayed right at home and prayed and you would have been healed." and "check with your doctor" which I heard recently. I don't think the prophecy part of what he does appears to be a gifting of his, the teaching is sometimes good and sometimes wacky but the people are healed and the gospel is preached. I wouldn't have any problem with those last two!

cheers,

The difference of opinion regarding BH in this forum in comparison to other forums, specifically the non-denom one is immense. BH was called every name under the sun over there and here, it's interesting that he's widely accepted as okay. I can't understand why some feel so strongly one way and others another. Are we not seeing the same things here? Is it that we P/C's are so willing to accept and believe anyone that has a large, multi-million dollar ministry, holds huge healing crusades and has countless testimonies, many unverified as trustworthy and sincere? I don't have a problem with BH personally, I don't watch his show but I appreciate many do. I guess I just don't understand why some people really hate him and some seem to really love him

I don't think that we believe anyone just because of a "large, multi-million dollar ministry, holds huge healing crusades and has countless testimonies". I think we (P/C's and Charismatics accepted the notion much quicker that WE (all who proclaim Jesus as Lord) are the body of Christ with Jesus as the head.

There was a guest speaker who came to my church at a point who ministered under Benny Hinn. He told us he truly is a man of God who listens to the voice of Him he claims to serve and follows that voice.

Let me tell you, this guess speaker was amazing. John Bevere, if anyone has heard of him. I'd think that this man of God, if he sensed anything wrong with Benny Hinn, would've stepped down from that position, but rather he stayed there with an open heart and learned more than we could imagine. Just an example...

I think us P/C's realise that if you have a large multi million dollar ministry you have to have funds coming in to pay for it . The others think that Benny puts it in his pockets and doesn't pay any bills. On top of that they don't undestand where he is coming from spiritually so are quick to find any fault they can.

Discernment is a great thing.. and while I am not here to judge.. I can't follow the teachings of BH because of the things that God has shown me through the gift of discernment.... which is another reason why I can't really follow WOF, but I am open to learning more about it.

I was healed while watching Benny on TV, i had a sore on my back for more than a year and he said that someone that has had a sore on their back and is afraid to go to the doctor is being healed, it was gone in four days.

I was waiting on Lord to heal it, and he did.
