• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I dont have and disorders or disabilities, but my younger brother is Dyslexic and has Autism. Half the time I swear i'm Dyslexic too, I learn everything backwards :p

Autism and Dyslexia? How does he cope? what kind of Autism, Aspergers? You dont have to answer if im asking too much.

lol - although thats not entirely it (the backwards thing), its one of the signs - im annoyed cos ishowed signs of dyslexia, dyspraxia (god this is annoying to write!) and ADD through my whole childhood. It wasnt noticed cos im Apparently bright and self taught. But once i got to college (in England thats 16 plus) and university i started to struggle. Im having to repeat this year for the thrid time.

im doing Karate which helps the dypraxia. and learning the guitar.

My disablity is cause by things that happen to me in my child life. I didn't have depression until I lost my boyfriend I loved, my dad and was being sexual abuse. All of that was too much for me. I don't know if you can count depression as a disablity to though. I do count my learning problem a disablity. I just don't get english and math. I been called stupid because of my learning disabled, I even took a test and it said my IQ is lower then average. I also have a back problem where it hurts most of the time. I don't know what you call the problem though.

what kind of test? Online or official..

on some online tests my IQ comes out way lower than it actually is.

How have you been tested?

Hi:wave: I also have learning disabilities, and social disabilities. I have bipolar disorder, I am only at about a sixth grade level in schooling. I was told by my doctor not to work. Work has never worked out for me.

none ;)

well..people would say I do but I dont consider myself to be disabled...

I have no idea what my IQ is either...

I have ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder) which causes alot of issues and occasional depression...I guess some people consider those disabilities, but some people dont.

Some christian lady said I was taking over by the devil because I had so many disablities. They said depression means the devil is in control of you. I don't think they are right.

I think not. Depression can be any of the chemical-socio-environmental factors.
Ignore her and get help from someone more reasonable.
