What did Jesus mean when he said "do not condemn and you will not be condemned"?

Well, in that, too, a judgment is made, but the circumstances are highly circumscribed.

"Tossing" as in throwing it around irresponsibly, which is what I assume you mean, is not what I'm doing, I'm using it responsibly. As in I'm taking on the responsibility of warning others of bad /deadly doctrine, something I'm certain God would have me do, so take it up with him. And FWIW it wasn't intended to be veiled at all, and was intended for anyone it applied too...no one in particular...honestly...I wasn't even thinking of you.

OK, I'll do what I can do on that and tell you what Jesus said....something that very clearly says something other than what you do...basically, be good or else. Now if you want to try to explain how the following means anything other than that...have at it.

John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

Doesn't look to me like he is going to declare them justified. It clearly says they will be condemned, so why are you telling us otherwise? We are to repent, change our ways, and walk with Christ, down the narrow path.

To be allowed to keep on sinning, more than indicates we walk the wide road to destruction. The wide road is the sinful/do anything road, and if we are allowed to walk that road as you say, then the narrow path passage becomes null, yet it is biblical. Hint after hint, and flat out showing people, still won't get through if they want to do what they want to do, but folks here still keep trying.

To believe in Jesus is to believe him, so better believe it, he will do as he said.

Wow, then I guess at the last judgment, we will be justified by our works then. As my pastor pointed out in a sermon weeks ago, we do not need to fear these sorts of warnings because we are part of a community that sends animals to Africa for poor people, we knit blankets for sick people in hospitals, we do charitable works in our community at food pantries, we welcome strangers. Our love is self-evident. And we didn't have to work our way into the Kingdom, the Word did it all.

If someone is driving down a dark road and heading towards a cliff and we know of this, we have an obligation out of love to warn them.

If someone is driving down a road and we don't like the way they drive and tell them they should do it our way, we are judging them according to our standards.

We are always to present the Truth in love.

I see, Jesus' warnings don't apply to you all because your pastor said so? Can you give me some biblical backing for that as well?

So let me get this straight, you are saying we can do evil and get to heaven, or your particular church can, even though Christ said anyone who does will be condemned, and your reasoning is nothing more than your pastor "said" you don't have to worry about Jesus warning?

You go on about doing as Jesus said but in this case, time to do what your pastor said over what Christ said? Is the reasoning there, as long as Christ says what you like he's fine to listen to, but when he doesn't you turn elsewhere and listen to those who tell you what you want to hear? That's really convenient I bet, but still, think I'll I go with the bible/Jesus' word whether I like it or not.

God does not wants us to condemn people because it will not help build there faith and belief in him, one thing we must realise is that gods principles are so high because he sets such a high standard for his childeren to follow, instead of condemning people he wants us to encourage one another and support them God never Condemns or judges us yet rather is justiful towards us and is always unconditional towards us, there are some christians who condemn and put people down how would that encourage them into believing in christ.. example Telling a gay people Gods hates gay people will only draw them away from him and make them feel unworthy rather you say jesus loves you unconditionally my friend automatically they don't feel condemned but rathered loved. as christians we must plant good seeds in peoples lives, in order for them too grow and too produce good fruits, as it is written "let your light so shine before men that they may see your wonderful works and glorify your father which is in heaven".

When we decide to judge it can make a lot of statements about how wee think and percieve and affect a situation or someone it defines a certian situation what ever it may be right or wrong its a powerfull thing doing so. It would bring me.
Luke 6:42- How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Well all of us I think, if we look back at our lives have made wrong judgments I know I have Too many times to remember even And when we make wrong judgments, we create problems for ourselves and we create problems for others when we make judgments that are in error.
Jesus is not ruling out the legitamite use of discerment church discipline and law courts but is rather admonishing his listeners to discontinue thier tendancey to criticize and find fault with others judge not forbids pronouncing another person before God for with judgement you pronounce you will be judged undue harshness and a judgemental attitude toward others will result in being treated in much the same way by God.
It's the job that God has taken to Himself and has delegated to Jesus Christ to judge mankind.

Does this mean that condemning others to hell is God's job: YES
only by his grace and grace alone wee are saved and permited to enter into his kingdom


And warning people that they're going to hell is a bad thing: NO
You may save thier life giving them direction and its maybe not what they like to hear but it is a very loving thing in all things related in Christ and pronouceing the word of God and the sanctification of Christ and the sacrifice and attonment for sins that Jesus lay down his life for the forgiveness of sin the only one found worthy to do so.
How are we to spread the gospel if we can't warn other people about hell
I am sure you have seen people standing in the streets evangleising shouting saying wee should be like christ and seek him with all our heart and take him as our lord and saviour and for the forgiveness of our sins right which is very true if wee are ever to be giving a chance of Gods grace but do you ever find thier conduct a bit overwheleming ?
Once you define yourself as an ambassidor for Christ which comes with many things
And you are guided by the teachings of Christ and Gods word comes with it many things and have the knowledge of Gods word and really are able to define what the scriptures represent and are able to give clear definition of what they mean without any deviation from them i would say would be a good start and if there is any deviation from his word it is like a blind man leading you to a dry well sometimes people have a habit describeing thier word or compareing thier word to Gods thier is only one Gods word it happens
What was jesus like ? Compansionaite Kind Patient did he ever shout scream at you force you to do anything NO !
So shareing the word comes humbleness love compassion patients Konowledge and represent christ in a fashion that people know him by after all you are proposeing to be an ambassodor of christ who wants to listen to a screaming human being
People might not like it but you want them to listen and be of good standing characther in a orderly fashion and they will listen if presented right thats just a thought for you but do not deviate change anything that is writen that is very very important

NO that was a one of the very specific purposes Christ jesus to come to earth and warn them of the wrath of Gods punishment and judgement. and also to sacrifice himself on the cross and shed his blood for the sins of man for he was the only one found to be worthy that man may have a relationship with god threw his son

Its a life giving choice
But there has to be more to it than that.
No for the wages of sin is death.
Denying Christ is a very very serious decison the most important decison you will ever make if one chooses to deny Christ jesus and not accept him as lord and saviour and be born again how can he ever expect to get into his kingdom

Or is that Gods job as well: in Gods eyes we are already sinners from the day man disobeyed him. their is only one who is enititled to be called the son of God his name is christ jesus he never sinned.
No its our responseability if a man is in christ he or she will know when they have commited sin and they will reprent
