Then you still should have voted Catholic, since that is where you feel you "fit in" :)

I thought the poll was about finding a denomination which fits the OP.

I already know I'm Catholic. I experience no confusion there. :crossrc:

Which of these the OP mention does the RCC believe in. Thanks and God bless

quote OP: I am looking for a denomination, but I am having a difficult time choosing which one. Here are some of my beliefs, feel free to ask about other ones, or to ask for further explanation of what I believe:

1 I am a full TULIP Calvinist
2 I ask intersession from Mary
3 I believe in transubstantiation
4 I believe that the Bible is not inherent, but it is inspired.
5 I believe that the charismatic gifts are for today
6 I think purgatory is a place for beautifying the elect, not punishing them.
7 I am an annihilationist
8 I don't believe the sacraments are required for salvation.
9 I don't believe that sins should be confessed to a priest
10 I don't believe the pope is infallible
11 I am a premilenialist
12 I lean towards young earth creationism
13 The OT laws are not still valid today, only what they teach is
14 I don't believe in penal substitution, but rather a substitutionary/ransom view

Only 2 and 3 for sure.

Silly me didn't even read the OP before I voted in the poll, so ignore my answer.

Based on what limited understanding I have of this particular denomination, I'd say you'd fit best in an Episcopal church. I say that based on my understanding that they allow for a lot of diversity of belief.

Don't pick "Other"

Why don't you believe :crossrc:The Holy Father is infallible.

Do you believe that you get "special" commuication from GOD?

Now, just think of everybody else who feels the same way.

Isn't it easier to believe that ONE :crossrc:POPE is closer to GOD and is infallible
than each and every person on Earth?

We all get communication with God through Jesus. I don't see what that "communication" has to do with infallibility though...

I don't put a limit on God. If he can speak to the Pope, he can speak to all of us too. The issue is discerning what is coming from God and what is coming from our own thoughts and desires. That is why I don't "trust" the Pope. He was elected by man for the position. Just look at history. That says it all for me.

I believe that I can communicate with God, and him with me. If God tells me something, then it is 100% true, it came from God, so no matter who hears it, it still comes from God and thus is true. I don' claim that I can identify God's voice 100% of the time, and I am sure that a great man like the Pope has a higher rate of identification, but the idea that he can hear God perfectly, seems very unlikely to me.

there are not any perfect peaple in the bible, or someone who never made a mistake except Jesus.

bibleblevr, can you show your original list in order of importance to you? Which ones are optional, which ones are negotiable, and which ones are you immovable on?

Sure, here you go Not really in order of importance, but in three groups.

Red=Highly important and or an essential view
Orange= This view holds only moderate importance
Green= This is a view that I might change, Or one I don't value.

One red view is about as important as 2 orange views

One orange view is about as important as all 5 green views

1 I am a full TULIP Calvinist ( However,I am willing to accept the Lutheran view for example, as I believe the differences are largely a matter of logistics)
2 I ask intersession from Mary (I would be willing to accept a church that at least is open to the idea)
3 I believe in real presence
14 I don't believe in penal substitution, but rather a substitutionary/ransom view

5 I believe that the charismatic gifts are for today
7 I am an annihilationist
8 I don't believe the sacraments are required for salvation.
10 I don't believe the pope is infallible
13 The OT laws are not still valid today, only what they teach is

4 I believe that the Bible is not inherent, but it is inspired.
6 I think purgatory is a place for beautifying the elect, not punishing them.
9 I don't believe that sins should be confessed to a priest
11 I am a premilenialist
12 I lean towards young earth creationism

I think that this gives a fairly good assessment, but if any of you guys have more questions, then shoot.

What do you mean by the Bible is inspired but not "inherent"?

I believe that the Bible is not God's absolute truth, dictated through men, but rather a collection of writings that are all useful for gaining knowledge of God, and that God meant for us to have as a means of understanding our faith. I think that the idea that the Bible could have some errors is acceptable, because it was written by men. However, in my opinion, the doctrine in the Bible has been preserved from error.

You probably would not be happy. Orthodoxy views Calvinism as a heresy.

From an Orthodox viewpoint the original question is not the right one to ask. It shouldn't be "What denomination am I?" It should be, "What is the Truth and how do I conform myself to that?" It isn't about making the Church fit your beliefs.
