I would prefer education in moral issues. Not indoctrination, but about plato, kant, bentham, epicuris, christian ethics etc.

When I was 16 I left school knowing equations, geography, art, came (due to hard work)in the top so many % of the year. Buti didnt even have a basic understanding of what morality was meant to be about....

Whats that meant to indicate?

What good in life are quadratic equations? Or knowing how to map people sat on a beach? Its not really going to be a form of helping people orientate in life, for me at least.

Talk about having to reinvent the wheel.

And then they harp on about "bad behavior" ...Iam guessing these people have a head problem.

in their hearts there is a disease....koran

I think female equality, racial equality, religious equality, rule of law and legal equality, the progress of science and education, and so much more, has happened in the last few centuries, so I have no idea what you are talking about. Liberty and reason are winning.

Except the science, every thing on you list go up and down through out the history.
It is just like the global warming problem. It is warming now. But it is nothing when compared to what happened in the past.

Would everything be better tomorrow? I don't think so.

Why is that a problem? People should be free to harm themselves. There is no objective good for people. Your life is your own.

Is it objectively good for people to be free to harm themselves?

Is it objectively wrong for the state to tell people how to act in their personal lives?

Yes, the trends are generally positive. It is an exciting time to be alive. :)
