What Comes Next

Hello All,

God has given me a good life. I have been spared and delivered from so much! He has rescued me again and again from circumstances, from sin, and from emotional and mental wounds.

However, in recent times, I feel like I have hit a wall. I have a stable situation in life, but I am not sure where to go from here. At church I hear about the dreams and directions that God has given to my brothers and sisters - several are starting ministries or becoming missionaries.

I want to matter. I don't want to get caught in the daily grind, then get to the end of my life and realize that somewhere I lost the Kingdom along the way. Please pray that God with give me clear, confirmed direction, and the peace and patience to wait upon Him.

If your "stable life" includes your love and mercy for others, what else can you do?
Keep praying and studying the bible.
Seek to volunteer with those that help the needy.
Oh, and pray some more!

In order for any Christian to become a Missionary, do they automatically have to leave the country?

Your Missionary Outreach could possibly start this very morning, within 1 Mile of your home.

Begin to look for opportunities, then you don't become stagnant, in the daily grind, because you are taking the Kingdom of God to others.

Right in your own city is a Mission Field waiting to be plowed, and planted with the seeds of Hope, Love, Truth and Salvation.

I'm reminded of the verses in the Bible that speak directly on the fact we all are given different, unique talents, abilities and gifts to serve the kingdom of God. Have you discovered what your talent is? Some are great encouragers, teachers, preachers, leaders etc... wherever He has gifted you ask the Lord for more growth, peace and perseverance.
I think sometimes we see others and start to compare our gifts with theirs and think we aren't as effective as others. However, that simply isn't true. God has you right where you are at to be effective in your circle of influence. Be a Peace Seeker, ask the Lord to guide you, and then sit back and realize that He is a God of answering prayers. Go back and do the last thing that He told you to do and ask for peace in the midst of uncertainty. He will answer, He cares about all of things we care about and will answer prayers, in His timing, not ours.

I did not explain my request very well. My concern is that I will miss the opportunities He has prepared in advance for me (Ephesians 2:10). I am more concerned about the direction of my life, and choices I will make - I want my life to align with His will. I want to walk as one with Him. I don't want to get so concerned with this life (i.e. the daily grind) that I miss Him.

Praying more, reading the Bible more, showing mercy more - all of this is good. Loving the Lord and others should be my way of life in increasing measure. My focus with this prayer request is more on my general future direction. I know this probably does not mean being an international missionary or something like that. I don't need a grand purpose. I just don't want to miss whatever the Lord has called me to - for today of course, but also for the long-term future. I want to hear Him and obey fully. I don't want to go down rabbit trails or pursue what is outside of His will.

If you evangelize in words and deeds, then you won't miss the earthly opportunities and heavenly rewards.

Father, this sounds like some of the people I knew in Bible College, just not sure what You wanted them to do. Of course Proverbs 3:5,6 comes to mind, as does Psalm 37:5 and Psalm 27:14. Isaiah 30:21 also comes to mind. Lord, may GraceTruthLove be reading in Your Word and allowing You to assure them of Your desire to reveal, step at a time, Your will for them. May they be patient, sensitive, and watching for what You really want them to be doing, and not just looking for what they might like to be doing. Amen.
