No problem at all. Brevity is not my strong suit, so I understand if it was too long. It can be easy to make up a whole doctrine based on one verse, so if I can think of multiple verses that show where I have derived what I am saying, then I want to reference them in order to show the full support of the Bible, especially when there are many people who disagree with my position, but that does not tend to be short.sorry if i sounded rude, i am just dealing with a lot in my faith and i feel sad
I understand your intention is good. The true boiled down issue is this:No problem at all. Brevity is not my strong suit, so I understand if it was too long. It can be easy to make up a whole doctrine based on one verse, so if I can think of multiple verses that show where I have derived what I am saying, then I want to reference them in order to show the full support of the Bible, especially when there are many people who disagree with my position, but that does not tend to be short.
if you read the context of romans14:5 you can clearly see it is regarding fasting. The context is EATING. The sabbath was made for man (Adam). He was created on the 6th day and the sabbath on the 7th. He was created first...What about Romans 14:5 "One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind"
And when Jesus said "The sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath."
I am not saying this to stumble anyone rather to bring to attention the meaning of scripture which Sabbath ultimately is for rest
God. His own voice- written by His own finger. You're right, it is with those who taught you this.
Your first quote box included the quote of the Bible about the 7th day being the Sabbath.Section 7, Chapter 22 - 2LBCF:
Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
I think many Christians feel this way. I think the culprit is boredom?I want to play games like I used to but always feel guilty. Specifically animal crossing where i like to fish and just have fun but I always think it's wrong. I don't want to sin but I don't want to live a life where I do nothing at all. What do you guys think?
Again, if you read the context of Romans14:5 you can clearly see it is regarding fasting. The context is EATING. Context matters...Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Very refreshing to see this type of understanding and the rest of your posts. Thank you. There are times when some of God's laws appear to conflict, such as when God command priests to rest on the Sabbath, but also commanded priests to make offerings on the Sabbath (Numbers 28:9-10). However, it was not the case that they were forced to sin by breaking one of the two commands no matter what they chose to do, but that the lesser command was never intended to be understood as preventing the greater command from being obeyed. This is why Jesus said that priests who did their duties were held innocent, why David and his men were held innocent, and why Jesus defended his disciples as being innocent (Matthew 12:5-7), so the Pharisees were incorrect to accuse his disciples of breaking the Sabbath.
Thank you for your kind words, you are welcome. God’s word directly states that His law is for our own good (Deuteronomy 6:24, 10:12-13), so we need to obediently have faith God’s word.Very refreshing to see this type of understanding and the rest of your posts. Thank you.
When I first read this explanation some time ago, I recall the conclusion being that the epitome of Law is for the good of men. It would be nice if more would realize this.
Thanks again for your posts.
True -Mark 2:23 "And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain." They were not out working, so it would be out communicating with one another and enjoying the outdoors.
I'm just gonna be 100% honest, I mentioned Paul talking about freedom from the law
Jesus care more about whether your saved or not, because if your saved you will always know what is right and isn't right, on every day, not only the Sabbath.Jesus says the Sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath.
The main issue I'm bringing up is I have always had a hard time knowing what is and is not ok to do on the Sabbath to the extent I almost do nothing at all.

Sounds to me like the sort of thing to do on the Sabbath. In Genesis 1 - 2 v 3 God created over six days then rested. I think He built that pattern into us, so for me it would be about having a break from your usual activity - job, studying etc. I like to keep it free from housework as well but that's just my choice. I have Christian friends who see it differently and that's okay.Jesus says the Sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath.

Good point in referring to the Bible on this topicSounds to me like the sort of thing to do on the Sabbath. In Genesis 1 - 2 v 3 God created over six days then rested.
Receive it with thanksgiving for the opportunity to relax on this day of rest The Lord has given you. Just do your best to not let it be fully preoccupying or dictate behaviour. And if it is, don't do it. So for example if there's an hour or two left of Sabbath (idk if you have closing Sabbath prayers) don't let it intrude on your worship time or what you do before the day is over. To the best of your ability make God come first. You could also limit your time on it to 1-2 hours or something.I really wanted to fish in my video game animal crossing. I did. I felt a little guilty. And i just don't know what i can do and wanted freedom from rules.
A lot of people are not understanding that we are no longer required to keep the sabbath under the New Testament. So you have nothing to worry about as long as you accept Jesus as your savior, because Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. I will list scriptures and hope you contemplate on them for clear understanding. We all receive discernment from the Holy Spirit. Pray for understanding.Jesus says the Sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath.
