I normally use Opera but I find that because I have the new test version it doesn't always work on all sites, so sometimes I use Mozilla. I sometimes have to use IE but only under protest and sometimes I use links but only really to check if a site works in it when I make my own sites.

I haven't tried Netscape 7....how is it?

Mostly I use IE...especially because it's what this board is geared toward.

I did use Opera for a few months until my computer kept freezing and crashing after using it for an hour or so. Maybe I should try it again. :)

I used to use Mozilla but it was too big and slow so I switched to Phoenix (on the PC side) and Chimera (on the Mac side), which are both based on Mozilla.

Phoenix works great, but Chimera has some issues with this site. There are far too many animations for its taste, and the typing in the post edit boxes is a bit slow.

IE is the best for me. well, it's one of the major ones, along with netscape. i find that the HTML is more compatible with IE...along with all the other webpage designing stuff. hey...microsoft does it on purpose...

anyways...it's compact, and i like that in a browser.

IE compact? The downloads for that program usually approach 20 megs while the Phoenix downloads are about 7 megs (and will be 6 soon).

Also, does IE have popup killing? After using Phoenix with the pop-up killing feature, I don't think I could go back to a browser that does not have that.

well said, that is one of the reasons that I use mozilla and opera, the smallness and the reason I like opera is it's ability to kill pop ups and the new test version has the option of killing pop-ups but allowing a new window if you request it. Phoenix may do that though, as I don't know it at all.

I've fixed the poll for you to say "lynx". :) That was my very first text-based browser when the internet started to become popular in the early 90's, back when AOL was still just a BBS, not an ISP. I remember the uproar when AOL "newbies" invaded the net.

Anyway, I have to admit that this site is geared towards IE 5.5 or higher - some of the older browsers won't work at all with this site.

Yes, newer Phoenixes allow selective pop-up blocking.

I have been mucking about with Mozilla and have discovered that although it is not obvious it does have pop-up killing, weeeeeeee!!!

And thankyou for fixing my poll Erwin, it is much appreciated.
