Just finishing "The book of Five Rings". Going to start another called "See no Evil"

I read the Book of Five Rings some time before I received Christ.

Interesting book I thought. I liked his thoughts on centrality and not focusing oneself into one specific direction as to not lack in the others.

Not that I'm endorsing the book or trying to draw any parallels between it and my beliefs now. But I remember reading it. I actually wanted to train in Jeet-kun-do or Kung-fu... and maybe be a Buddhist until the Lord graciously found me and changed me.

It's funny I hold a similar view on Christos Centros (Christ centeredness) now. Holding centrality upon His person and His being, and not extending to the specific areas or avenues of what is perceived to be parts of the Christian faith. Staying closer to His heart that every area is in it's proper proportion.

I just finished A Deadly Misunderstanding and am beginning Meeting Islam: A Guide for Christians.

I stopped reading Meeting Islam because the author's writing style annoyed me too much to be able to enjoy it. So, now I'm on to the next library book: Encountering the Mystery: Understanding Orthodox Christianity Today by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

"The Method of Grace." by John Flavel

edit- Very good book. He expounds on the "Method of Grace" in the Holy Spirit's work within the heart of the believer.

I checked out two books from the library last week. Another Day in Paradise, International Humanitarian Workers Tell Their Stories because I'll be leaving for Africa soon and a book about Egypt because I am thinking about Cairo for my second tour.

But I have two very good friends who are just in love with these books, and it's been about a decade since I last read them... my friends are dorks. But I am enjoying myself.
