Reading some extracts from Marc Bloch's Thaumaturgic kings for my classes of medieval history. That is fascinating. In Literature, I am reading The Earth of Zola. What a horrible book, I definitly dislike it, everything is ridiculously exaggerated and it is one of the most gloomish thing I ever read.

I am reading "The Catholic Controversy" by St. Francis De Sales
it was written in the late 1500's

"All The Bright Places" by Jennifer Niven. It starts with suicide attempts and turns into more of a coming of age love story.

Especially since the original versions are far more dark and (ahem) grim than the ones we usually tell our kids today.

In their time, the world was a dark place and dark folktales warned of their realities.

Most people will recognise the name of Socrates or Plato
But when it comes to Hermes Trismegistus, very few sew to know of him, and he is considered the grandfather of wisdom.

I think most people are not into the occult, so I don't see why it would be surprising that people would not know of hermetic philosophy.

Read a whole pile of books...the latest was the mom factor by those boundaries pyschologists dr cloud and dr townsend.

I was sceptical about those boundary books because they only seemed to work for certain people. But this one was a bit different.
It actually made sense for me...basically it said find a mother subsitute if your own mother couldnt do the job. Hmm. And my mum came under the category 'china doll mother'

This Peony in Love is a bit of a drag. I mean the main character ends up a ghost and starts haunting her husbands new wife. Too bad she didnt know Jesus.

Its so cute. Its really for children but Id never seem one before and had to buy it. Its actually a pop up bible atlas so protrays scenes like the abrahms journey the exodus, solomons temple, jesus in galilee and his last days, and pauls missionary journeys.
