in your opinion. just as i see zakir naik and ahmed dadeet as two lying filths.

why? because they go against Christianity. so it is in my instincts to feel as such. and i'm sure if you were non muislim you would hate naik and dadeet too! just as you, a muslim, hate ali sina. i love ali sina! lol.

so, nothing beyond the ordinary.

this is totally off topic.

the next book i wish to read it prolly some writings by the buddha or a book on the Baha'i faith. two interesting faiths with excellent messages for mankind :)

well, do you think that a muslim is going to write a sceptical book on islam? lol :p :D
Only he if finds a very deep secret cave to hide in.
I haven't read of ex-christian atheists that write books against Christianity having to hide anywhere.

It would kind of be like hiding from the Mafia in the olden days. ^_^

Actually Zakir naik and Ahmed deedat and many others tell the truth, all they have been doing is unearth the truth about Christianity and hinduism and to prove it they have debate Chriatian and Hindu scholars, if they were telling lies these scholars could have denounced them and openlyy in front of thousands proved they were wrong howvere it is not the case. Both Ahmed Deedat ( may Allah have mecy on him) and zakir Naik (may Allah protect him) have stood up and faced the challenge infront of 10's of thousands, yet their adversaries have not been able to defeat them. So much so that som,e missionary who tried to take on Ahmed Deedat found what he was saying to be truth and accepted Islam.
However ali sina would never come face to face in front of a mixed crowd and put his cards on the table because heknows he uses decption. Same thing that happened with Craig winn the one who wrote the book against the prophet Mohamed (pbuh). My friend Jalal Abu Arub had challlenged him to debate the Issue live he refused many times until one day through a radio station they were gathered for a debate. Turned that Craig Winn, although he had written a book to defame the prophet of Islam had never even read the Quran and this is the same with your Ali sina and his cronies. At least Deedat and Naik have read the Bible and even knew it verbatim from cover to cover so what ever quote they make from it you know they have studied it. Deedat, spoke Hebrew, he knew Aramaic and Greek so they knew what they were talking about. They did not deceive people

Hi Mrs Sindhe:wave:
Is that book the same thing as Abracadabra?

Did you know that Abracadabra is a cabbalistic harm, said to be made up from the initials of the Hebrew words Ab (Father), Ben (Son), and Ruach ACadsh (Holy Spirit, and formerly used agains ague, flux, toothache etc.

The word was written on parchment and hung from the neck by a linen thread:

A B R A C A D A B R A
A B R A C A D A B R
A B R A C A D A B
A B R A C A D A
A B R A C A D
A B R A C A
A B R A C
A B R A
A B R

A

It may not work with this typing, but it is meant to form a triangle. Just some interesting trivia from Brewster's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable.
It doesn't work, how does one do a tab over on this thing. Anyway it's meant to look like an inverted pyramid triangle.

What book are people reading now?

Greetings! :)

I've just finished reading the novel Under Pressure and the Baha'i book Come Now, Let Us Reason Together.

And currently, I'm reading the Baha'i book Without Syllable or Sound: The World's Sacred Scriptures in the Baha'i Faith. I'm also reading the sci-fi novel A Transatlantic Tunnel, Hurrah!

At work, I listen to books on tape. I've just finished What Liberal Media? and am about to start Hen's Teeth, Horse's Toes.

In addition, I'm also involved in editing/cleaning certain Baha'i books: I just finished 'Abdu'l-Baha in America: Agnes Parsons' diary, and am currently doing Lights of Guidance: these books (and others) are slated to be made available online when this process is completed for each.

Best, :)

Bruce

Actually, I'm just sidhe. The missus is nursing the baby now.

I've heard such. :)

Abrahadabra is a strictly Thelemic thing, though. It's a magickal formula propogated by Crowley involving the god Hadit.

At the moment I am reading 'Messy Spirituality' by Mike Yaconelli. A truly inspiring book, and very challenging for anybody who thinks some people are not good enough to call themselves followers of Christ ...

Christopher Hitchens "God is not great"

You should all read it, its hit the nail on the head, so to speak.

You really oughta read Douglas Wilson's response to Hitchens along with it. Here's a link to the blog posts. You should start from the bottom and work your way up. There are also links to a written debate between the two among those posts. Hitchens really doesn't get it.

I review books for major companies, so I received a pre-released copy of The Dark River by John Twelve Hawkes (follow up to his first book....bestselling novel, The Traveller).

This book is absolutely addicting. I highly recommend it as I have found it quite hard to put down.
