  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Small list (could be huge if I wanted it to be :) )

Depeche Mode
Duran Duran
Erasure
Pet Shop Boys
Def Leppard

I love the 80's music! I think the music nowadays is boring and unoriginal (Techno being the exception). Maybe that's just my "old age" talking :o I don't know!

I loved ZZ Top

Lynnard Skynnard (oh yeah!!!)
Journey

Any southern rock group

Now I only listen to christian music, but I like all styles (well except the metal)

I love all those bands - and I got to see them all in concert. ZZ Top was probably the best - they just rocked the house! And when I seen Foreigner I got to be in the front row. They were so loud that I couldn't hear for like 2 days - it was awesome. I was also real big on Bad Company and The Steve Miller Band (I seen them like 5 times in concert). I remember seeing Deep Purple in conert and they had this huge lazer light show - that was just spectacular.

I was really big on going to concerts in my day. I had to laugh at that song "1985" by Bowling for Soup - where they talk about White Snake. And I remember being at that concert thinking I was so cool. LOL

I was a bonafied DURANIAC. I wanted to marry John Taylor in the worst way. If TV Guide said any member of Duran Duran was supposed to burp on TV I was there with the VCR.

I also liked Thompson Twins, Madness, Adam Ant, Bananarama, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Paul Young. The first Band Aid was my dream come true. lol

Anyone remember EBN-OZN?

Back when?
High school was different from college, which was different from my 20s, and still different in my 30s.

I remember when I could afford to go to concerts! Oh, I loved that.

I've seen more concerts than I can remember...

Huey Lewis (my first!), Bryan Adams, Neil Young, Foreigner, Anita Baker, David Bowie, John Waite, John Mellencamp (Couger back then), Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith (4 times), Guns N Roses, Van Halen (Sammy Hagar), Queensrych, Soundgarden, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Cindy Lauper, Chicago, The Grateful Dead...

I can't remember! I've been listening to Christian music, almost exclusively, for about 8 years. I went on a secular black out and never went back. I don't listen to the radio anymore. But I still listen to secular CDs.
