  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Have you ever let your mind wander about what we will be doing with our everlasting life promised by Him? Like really let your mind go...? It's hard to even imagine. What about being in a constant state of worship and awe of Him, exploring the cosmos, loving our brothers and sisters and the rest of His creation, having our 'true' bodies and access to previously unattainable intellect and knowledge? All I know is it's fun and exciting to think about. What are your thoughts?

I can't get past the making of everything right, and I can only scrape the surface of that. People who were born blind will see for the first time. People who were born lame will run and jump for the first time. People who were unloved will have their stigma completely removed and they will experience a full, healing measure of love. The more hurt a person is, the more there is to heal, and the more healing they will receive so as to not be hurt anymore. The joy and relief from that alone is just incomprehensible.

I used to be unsure about how amazing Heaven was going to be a such an awesome experience, and always wondered why God would spend all of this time creating a beautiful universe to just destroy it. Then I heard a sermon series that showed how the Bible talks about restoring creation, our own bodies, and how Heaven is going be rejoined with Earth. If I were you, or anyone, I would highly encourage you to read Suprised by Hope.

Never again shall a hungry mouth go without food.
Never again shall a mother weep over the body of her child.
Never again shall the weak be tread upon by the strong.
Never again shall there be mourning.
Never again shall there be poor who lack in anything.

Every mountain shall be laid low.
Every valley shall be lifted up.
The crooked paths shall be straightened.
The least shall be greatest.
The last shall be first.

The wolf and the lamb, the leopard and the she-goat, the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
No more suffering.
No more death.
Every wrong shall be righted.
All that was lost shall be restored.

"They shall not hurt or destroy
on all my holy mountain,
says the Lord." - Isaiah 65:25

Yes I think about how we're going to have the fullness of His Presence, love, joy, peace, revelation, etc. Questions are going to be answered. Colors won't have the taint of sin. While I experience Christ and those things to some degree now it's limited. To know one day that won't be the case is so very exciting. We'll finally have everything the way God intended. It makes the suffering worth it. I also don't think I fully comprehend the depth, breath, height, & width of God's love in the present. I think about this all the time but it's so deep that my finite brain can't contain it and I end up saying, "that's why you're God! lol So in part I think that's why we get new/true bodies because of all that glory!

*I like the term "true bodies". :)

Yes it is very encouraging to think about...all of Christ forever.

Bliss.
no work, no suffering, no hurt.
Lots of different plants and animals and crystal clear water, loving people, angels, brand new bodies that are perfectly formed, new sights and smells and sounds, music everywhere...lots of stories that never get old, laughter, being with Jesus and all the saints..

We may already be living an everlasting life, exploring the cosmos, warping space and time, holding a black hole in our hands, taking the first steps on an alien world....

It's just a matter of perspective. It depends on which eyes you are looking from!

I think about that quite often, actually. I'm always wondering what it's going to be like, but even more so, seeing God will be absolutely, majestically terrifying! XD ^_^

..except for the small detail that our bodies corrupt daily and eventually we die.

That's from our perspective.

From another creature's perspective, we are moving in slow motion and are extremely long lived.

Yet, from another creature's perspective, we are virtually motionless and are practically immortals.... Their entire existence, just a tiny blip from our perspective. They observe us as we observe the Universe..... Entirely clueless whether we are living beings or what our business in this world is or whether we are coming to an end. They have no clue that we age and we die.

Heaven isn't exactly "out there". The question is not "where?", it's more of a "when?".

I just can't even fathom everlasting life from a Believer's perspective. A place where there is no more sorrow, no more disappointments, no more thorns and thistles mixed in with the roses, no more dishonest people and scammers around, a place of pure joy. All I know is that the more I know about this world now compared to knowing God and my true home, it makes me hate this world and everything in it all the more.
