What are your thoughts on Mr. Max Lucado?

Is his material good, anyone ever read his stuff?

He has many popular books. I have used several of his children's story books with younger kids that I work with.

He's a good author. His writings aren't too deep theologically, but they definitely evoke thought. He has a lot of good illustrations that stick.

I have about a dozen of his books, bought some time ago. I really enjoyed them and found them very thought provoking. Think perhaps I may start looking again to see if he has published any new one's.

Since i've made this post I've read a couple chapters of one of his books and I do agree. Pastor Dave bought me the "Lucado LifeWorks Collection" on CD. It's awesome because its got well, his life works even in audio format. Talking to him last night he said the same thing you did. "He's good, and illustrative, and it'll preach."

I have read one of his books and he seems to use the K.I.S.S. formula when writing which is great! He doesn't go over anyone's head and explains things in a basic nature, which teachers should do.

I find it interesting to see that Lucado is a member of the Reformed Church of Christ, but does not hold onto to all of their beliefs, water baptism for salvation being one, but he just feels like God wants him in that church. Interesting tid-bit.

We just bought our kids the "Hermie and Friends Bible" by Lucado. It is great. Has great reviews from other parents as well. My mother was always an avid reader of his as well.

I personally have not read any of his books.

I LOOOVE his writings! I have several of his books too! He is very blessed with writing and the skills to spread the word of God to a lost and dying world.

I love his writing! You get absolutely drawn into the scene and the atmosphere. It's so simple yet so deep. And it's very inspirational.
