Yes, in over 30 years in ministry I have found this to be the case too many times.

If you have a dream that glorifies God, then it's ok. If it doesn't. I don't know, but anyways, hope this helps. Stop worrying about not pleasing God, becuase if it helps and glorifies God then you are fine.

So glad this thread was bumped up.

I've felt a tugging again to create a cartoon series for kids that's Christian based. HRH has always complained about the amount of kids shows that's full of magic, full of rebellion. Then she'd complain that Veggie Tales was boring. And so I use to tell her stories about a bunch of local kids who triumph over hardships, and who have God-breathed abilities, a bit like the early church in Acts. These kids weren't perfect but they could do all things through Christ who was their strength. They'd learn about their authority in Christ. She use to love those stories.

I've had this for 6 years. I'm even suppose to upload it to Youtube as a channel. The style of the animation was suppose to be Anime. But, I'd say to the Lord, "I can't draw let alone Anime" "I can't write scripts" "I can't create my own music to avoid copy write". All through the years, all I've said was "I can't". Yet through the years I've acquired a powerful open source animation software, open source music software, voice modification software (for the characters) and this morning the kids are asleep.

Well He's reminded me again that it's not about me. Seeing this thread confirmed that nudge.

So this is my dream...

I am now in a different denomination, which means I had to resign as a Methodist preacher. Not sure I have done the right thing, but am staying put for the moment.

Anyone following their dreams, got new ones or have anything to share about God helping you to fulfil your dreams?

Every time I have ever sought the Lord concerning the desires of my heart, He usually tells me something like "Seek not your reward here on earth; seek instead the life that comes from above." It seems I am to cast all my cares on Him alone and make Him alone the dream and passion of my heart rather than what I can do for Him. For me, this has been a painful process of letting go, seeing the pursuit of my own dreams as only futility and vanity, but I am finally getting to a place where He alone is my joy and accomplishment, and there is a kind of freedom that comes along with it, although it is bittersweet. I think we really MUST, I am discovering, lose our lives -- and all that goes with it -- in order to truly live in Him as He desires.

Hi sis, that's exciting to hear! Let us know how you're getting on through 2014.

I'm working at the moment but I'm still developing my dream. I am amazed to discover that HRH can draw anime characters and she loves both ICT and Art. So it's coming along slowly but nicely.

Since my last post I've spent spare minutes etc during 2013 setting up the social media presence so that I can have enough of a following to see the cartoons when they are made.

I've also began to write the stories down. One of my sisters in Christ (who's an avid book reader) read my first chapter and given my target audience (10+ kids) she said it certainly kept her riveted.

So the current bumps in the road are the long work hours again, plus being a single mum, plus having a demanding toddler but I am excited to see that the dream is still being developed, PTL!
