The "God Delusion" was hilarious. I was laughing so hard at Dawkins' logic (or lack thereof) and his puny and pathetic attacks against God.

A really good book to read as a follow-up of the "God Delusion" is one called the "Dakins Delusion" written by one of Dawkins' colleagues at Oxford. Very insightful.

I am reading "Examine the Evidence: Exploring the Case for Christianity". I enjoy books that force me to open the Bible. I take notes over them too. My wife calls me a nerd. I am on a record pace this year for number of books read. This year so far I read:

"The Church Is Not for Perfect People" by William Murray (former atheist activist)
"The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel (most powerful part is when the physician describes crucifixion)
"Is Christianity Good for the World?" Debate Hitchens Vs. Wilson (Wilson, the pastor, dominated. Hitchens should have stopped in first round)
"God:The Evidence" by Patrick Glynn (another former atheist. Who offers different evidence I haven't read before).

My next book I finished this year I am hesitant to list...

I read "The God Delusion" by the infamous Richard Dawkins. I heard references to this book by many Christian authors. I was curious, I believed myself to be well equipped for anything he might say, and figured what wouldn't kill me would make me stronger. I was right. I even read it at a depressing and frustrating time and I bounced right back. I promised myself no matter what arguments he would put up I would not be lazy in my faith, I would seek the truth. I don't recommend this book. Dawkins is extremely negative ( to put it as nice as I can). He often refers to himself or to websites/articles that he is a contributor to. His language is sarcastic, intolerant and derogatory. He stated at the beginning of his book his goal was to turn the reader into an atheist. Failed. Not for new christians. Not really for anyone. It would only add hate to an atheist's heart. Would only anger a well seasoned Christian and possibly be detrimental to new believers. It's worth would be better suited as a toiletry.

I have to go calm down now. I am getting angry just thinking about it. I am sorry.

I've read that book myself and I totally agree with your review. It is really appalling and badly researched. For a good, concise response that shows up the flawed arguments in a nicely mocking tone I would recommend "The Dawkins Letters" by David Robertson (2007 Chrstian Focus Publications).

Hey thanks!:) I suprised how many errors I, a "dumb" believer, could find in Dawkins', an "elite mind", book. I am going to the bookstore this weekend and I will look for it.

I am reading "The King Is Coming - A Compelling Biblical Study of the Last Days", by Dr. Harold L Willmington.

If you enjoy apologetic books, may I suggest: "The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict: Fully Updated to Answer Questions Challenging Christians Today" by Josh McDowell (a former atheist) and "The Signature of God" by Grant R. Jeffrey.

I read the Josh Mcdowell book. Took notes on that too! Had to limit myself very informative. I'll look into Jeffrey's book. I think I have seen it in the bookstore. I am starting to read another book by a couple atheist who argue that there is something fatally wrong with natural selection as an explanation to evolution. The book is called,"What Darwin Got Wrong" by Fodor and Palmarini. Seems a little confusing but I started reading when I should have been sleeping.
