One of my old running buddies who had it all: good looks, all the ladies, high paying job with prestige, partied all night - was so ultimately unsatisfied that he (unbeknownst to me) eventually just sat at home shooting up synthetic heroin till it finally killed him one night. This was 1987 when we were in our young 20's.

Rocked my world. He was my hero. I became so disallusioned by the fulility of man's empty pursuits that a year later I answered God's call and received Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

I sure hope somehow my friend did too, before he checked out.

Walking in the spiritual realm with Jesus is what it's all about.

True purpose fulfilled!

Thanks for posting this. God bless!

My oldest friend and brother in Christ, hung himself in a closet just a few years ago. I'm not even sure why I'm sharing Joe, but your story made me think of Him.

Sigh... its incredibly painful isn't it? My heart is with you, bro. Just one more day could have made a difference, yes?

I was not in a good place myself at the time. This was before Yeshua came and pulled me from the fowlers net. He was in a worse place than even I was and I couldn't deal with him, we hadn't spoken in a while. I felt responsible somewhat. But I've been around enough to know better. But yes it was quite painful. My other oldest and dearest friend, a sister in the Lord, had died just the year before from breast cancer. Heavy sigh.

Larry Norman and others like him were a good influence within the Christian movement of the 70's and 80's as they related Jesus to the streets, to lost addicts.

Addiction like mental illness was not and really still isn't properly understood and addressed. But music like Larry's could penetrate into some peoples souls and get them thinking. That Jesus was the answer to what they are looking for.

This was my era of music so I don't relate much to todays Christian music. Though there are some good ones like Toby Mac I have heard and others like Josh Grogan. I think there are a number of artist who don't profess their Christainity but seem to be singing about Christian beliefs.

Before I was a Christian I use to like Supertramps song 'Lord is it mine'. As far as I know they didn't profess to be a Christian band or preach. Just great artist who were able to express through music probably what most people though deep down.

I like Greta Van Fleets music as its experimental has Christian themes. Though I am not sure if they are Christian.

I came across this song I had saved with Tom Jones and Buffurlo Springfield. Tom Jones is getting down with the blues and I think he was a soul man at heart. But he really can sing the blues. Better than Elvis I reckon.

You can see a young Neil Young playing his iconic guitar rifts and hear that destinct Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young harmonies backing Jones with Stephen Stills singing falsetto. Its great jamming music.

I like Nordic and Celtic music. Its very grounding with nature and I think the environment those ancient cultures lived in. It reminds me of an act I seen on BGT. Though not Nordic but rather Amazonian I think it reminded me of the sounds of nature and the native singing if you could call it that.

More like harmonising with nature. Each culture seems to have their own unique sound and its always grounded in the land and animals and their lifestyles.

Sorry about the rest of the showbiz stuff from BGT. The song finishes at the 2:26 mark lol.

Posting this to help out our friend Dmytro here, whoever he is. I've never come across a video which literally had zero views. And his channel's got 2 subscribers, which I assume would be him and maybe his brother. Not great music, but I've certainly heard worse.

I stumbled across this today. Oh man it's funny. All these famous musicians and singers dressed in their nice clothes, and Dylan does this. ^_^ At one point the backup singers are looking at him like "what is he doing"? You should listen to the whole song. The longer he sings the worse it gets. If you listen carefully there are actually a few intelligible words in there. And at the end it looks like he gets a standing ovation for mumbling incoherently, lol. Fun stuff.
