  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are you listening to?

My Augustine CD came in a pak including Pilgrim's Progress, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. Another one which I dont recall right now. LOL I've listened to Augustine and Pilgrim's Progress numerous times and love them and also love McLean's voice.

I have Spotify, so I just listened to the entire Van Halen catalog (except VHIII. I just can't do it,)

I went through a phase where I listened to nothing but classic rock, hair metal, etc.

Now I can't stand the stuff. Haha
So burnt out on it. I do recognize that Eddie Van Halen is probably one of the best guitar players around. They have a lot of talent.

I understand. There's not much of the 80's rock that I still listen to. But VH is one. They were always my favorite.

My favorite was probably either The Ramones or The Clash.
I was kind of a punk.
Actually it was a time before I was saved. I was an anarchist too.

Either way, I still like some '80s rock.

I think I might go ahead and give some of them another listen. There was a lot of talent then. Not like some of today's garbage where there is no real talent, just a bunch of noise.
I like some modern metal, if it's done right. I don't mind screaming, but I'd like to hear some singing too. I also like the symphonic stuff, which actually started by classic pop bands, lol. These guys screaming in the microphone were inspired by Supertramp and Stxy and Pink Floyd (which wasn't near as poppy).
