Taking my wife Sharon to the oral surgeon in about an hour for a rather nasty tooth extraction.

Bad enough they need to use General anesthesia

I've just come in from a parish council meeting. The theme of the meeting seemed to be how we need to change the parish's culture to better support our mission. Good to get the key people starting to think about that stuff.

Surgery went well. 3 extractions , both sides of her mouth. Strong pain meds and she us upstairs sleeping right now.

Have just come back from visiting one of my parishioners who's just gone into a nursing home with dementia. She's very confused and distressed; spent most of my visit crying on my shoulder.

Dementia is a terrible, terrible evil.

Dementia is a terrible, terrible evil.

Indeed it is. My mother in law died from complications of Alzheimer's. Eventually she forgot how to swallow.
