This is open to anyone who is doing Lent this year. What will you be doing? Will you be doing something more charitable this year or giving something up? If you're giving something up, what are you giving up?

I don’t do anything for lent. Lent is a Catholic pagan ritual.
Sure Jesus didn’t eat in the wilderness, but Jesus never said when it’s lent you are to refrain from food or give up something.
Jesus jut told us that when we fast. Not when, or how, with this or refrain from that.
So I’m doing nothing for lent.
Another thing that has bothered me lately is when Jesus died on Good Friday, what was the date? Because every year Good Friday is on different dates. If we our time frame from moon cycles, why then do we use a clock and days in our months because clearly something ain’t adding up

In general, we Orthodox don't have our own things that we do. Rather, it is a period of increased fasting and increased prayer. Ideally we try to only eat plant products to the best of our ability and increase how much we pray each day. It is sort of like doing sprints in order to help our distance running.
