That made me laugh! I didn't know some people actually thought that.

If you asked me what kind of show South Park was, I would say "offensive". I wouldn't have ever said "conservative".

There is some book out there called 'South Park Conservatives'.

I know right now Fox News and some other conservative outlets are pulling out an infamous transgender episode from 2005.

I think that episode hasn't aged well, but it's a little funny how people were making similar jokes over 15 years ago.

I believe the creators themselves identify more with being libertarians.

I watched a commentator video on South Park's episode about Harry and Megan.

There's this scene where Harry is getting serious about abandoning their brand and truly going private. And Megan does nothing. So he opens her mouth and says "Hello?" It echoed. It was a good laugh!

Been binging the Rocky film series during my Covid social isolation.

Even managed to muster up the courage to finally actually watch Rocky 5. Wasn't as bad as I heard it was.

I like the Pacific thus far.. but man.. do we need a love story in everything?

I have not even heard of The Pacific. Yet I have a sneaking suspicion that the extraneous love story is meant to appease certain underrepresented demographics?

Throw Momma From The Train.

Never seen it, but it has its charms. Plus, I do like Danny Devito and Billy Crystal.

Last thing I watched was The Northman. Highly enjoyable...but a hard R movie not for children. I guess you could call it a Taken or more John Wick movie set in viking Scandinavia....but I appreciated the pagan mysticism and attention to detail injected in the movie. As usual I called the ending about 45 minutes prior to it happening much to the disappointment of my wife. She's not good at picking up on foreshadowing.

Have you ever noticed a constant almost excessively obsessive thematic focus on male puberty in Japanese anime?


Goku is a little boy, loses his tail, big strong man who fights other big strong men. Less clear.

More clear?? Every single male protagonist with a sword. Inuyasha has a sword that when he pulls it out...grows large and has a tuft of fur at the base. How many other male protagonists learn of their special powers that come with their absurdly giant swords? How many of them have a female love interest they can't wait to whip out the giant sword for? Guts is literally introduced as a near invincible giant swordsman which earns the attention and admiration of his effeminate captain and good friend....and that captain's female #2. Even that stupid one about the pirate kid....what's his special power? The ability to grow or magically lengthen any part of his body?

My hero academia returns to the Goku roots...turns heroes from little boys to big strong men. Attack on titan...hero learns that he too can become a large and inordinately powerful giant naked man.

There's something in the water over there.

A Quiet Place. Never seen this film before, I think it's one of those films best watched in a theater... but too late for that, lol.

Watched the Mask Of Zoro instead. Cute little movie, I guess. Not the masterpiece others have told me, but I don't regret watching it.

Right now I'm watching Grease. As a kid I had a friend who was obsessed with this movie.. and I found it the most boring thing in the world. Probably seen it over a dozen times but I frankly dont' remember much of any of it.. so it feels like I'm watching it for the first time.

I appreciate the film much more now, especially the musical numbers. As a kid I always found the 1950s aesthetic kind of nauseating, but now well... I still do somewhat but I try to look past it.

I will say.. I think some of the high school casting is a stretching it a little.. could swear some of these highschoolers are in their 40s, lol. Some people think teenagers looked older back then.. but some of these "kids" look ridiculous.

The actress who plays the mother (grandmother) on 'Roseanne' is in this episode. She almost looks kind of attractive here. Like maybe I'd think about possibly dating her if my options were a little more slim... maybe.

Been watching Everybody Loves Raymond. It's a quality show... although for some reason I never hear anyone talk about it.

I remember once watching some comedy movie.. not sure what it was called.. but they had this guy who's like "Everybody Loves Raymond is a really great show that many don't seem to appreciate". I was a little shocked that such a line was written in this otherwise lowbrow film.. but it was like.. yeah he isn't wrong.

Gleason, a made for television movie about the life of Jackie Gleason. I've seen this a few times, including when it first aired. Some of those CBS made for television movies take me back.
