I recently picked up a CS Lewis anthology and a book on the collective works of Carl Jung. I always enjoy reading Lewis's writing. He was sharp as a tack and brought a keen sense of humor into his work. I enjoy learning about dreams and their interpretations as well. Jung dives deep into interpreting dreams, with several books on his studies. I also like the fact both of these authors were professed Christians too, seemingly blessed by God just like I have been.

Having temporarily burnt out on trying to incorporate AI narration voiceovers on a video which began life as a PowerPoint presentation where synchronisation of animation was critical and finding no useful solutions I have turned for a brief respite to Roman marching camps. Specifically my interest lies in the largest such camp so far identified north of Hadrian's wall. It is located in Abderdeenshire and has been suggested as the camp from which Agricola launched an attack against the assembled might of the Caledonian tribes in AD83. Several other locations have been suggested for the battle and this one is no less likely than any other. The primary evidence for the battle is in the report of Tacitus, who was Agricola's son-in-law. The camp was first identified in the 1970s from crop variation visible in aerial photographs. It was confirmed by cutting a few trenches a couple of years later.

But ran into two electrical issues this past week involving panel boxes, and while the first was obvious, the second wasn't, and I wanted a refresher. Unfortunately what I had only glossed over it, and what I found on Youtube didn't inspire confidence. The first had a guy checking for a hot panel box by bumping the back of his hand against the lid rather than checking the voltage from lid to ground.
My dad was an electrician and he said 90% of all electrical problems are bad connections. (If that is any clue...) Also he always wore rubber boots and only touched potentially hot wires with one hand, he said if you used two hands the voltage would pass through your heart. Gulp!

One panel box was miswired, a type of mistake I don't understand could have been made in the first place. Had it been energized, it would have made a dead short. That one was easy. The other taxed my memory. Finally found it in an dated book I have, but the code has changed since then. It, too, was miswired but wasn't quite the obvious mistake that the first one was. Not being a licensed electrician, I won't comment further on these.

The first was, I think, due to a broken bonding strap on an outlet. Have dealt with that exactly once, and it was a pain to find. All I know is that the electrician replaced an outlet in a non-obvious location and it corrected the issue. The symptoms described to me had me thinking it was a bonding strap problem or a junction problem. Either way, I recommended calling an electrician and leaving that breaker off to be on the safe side, which they did.

It takes only about a amp of power through the heart to stop it. I knew someone online who died working on an project (I think electronic) from that very thing. One hand only is a good policy, but it pass through the heart in other ways. Should point out to anyone reading that the rubber boots or overshoes should be rated for that sort of work and voltage, as some rubber products incorporate carbon and aren't as good an insulator as we might think. Same for rubber gloves. Voltage is a difference in potential, and if the source potential is high enough, it will flow up one leg and down the other just from the difference in voltages between the two.

I work for an electric utility, and always use a device like a multimeter or voltage sensor to check before working on anything. Never try to check for voltage using the back of your hand, thinking the jolt will knock it away. At work we call that an open casket funeral. Touching it the other way we call a closed casket funeral.

You are wise to check circuits with the multimeter before working with electricity. I worked for an electrical contractor for about a day and a half some years ago. They wouldn't let me cut the breaker off to install a new receptacle. They said just cut one wire at a time and you'll be fine. I said no. I'll only be fine if I turn off the breaker first. They understood what I meant as they watched me walk off the job lol.

My electronics professor had taught us, just a year or two prior to that, how as little as 10-20 ma can be fatal. Our hearts have little resistance and it doesn't take much current to stop a delicate heart. An entire amp passing thru the heart seems inconceivable to survive.

Once was working a site that had two transformers connected in open delta in 240/480 and a single transformer connected in 120/240. We killed two transformers and the lineman with me walked back to the truck. I was checking voltage and found the meter base was still energized. I said. "Something's wrong" at the same time the lineman said "Whoa, whoa, whoa." We had disconnected one of the transformers in the open delta bank and the single phase 120/240 transformer and had left the other transformer in the bank energized.

Checking the voltage has kept me out of trouble lots of times.

Always make sure the multimeter or voltage tester is working first, though. Had one fail in the field, but I knew the equipment was energized. Another time had a multimeter recalled due to failures.

I am thinking about taking some MIDI worship music and putting the MIDI onto those little plastic Fisher Price disks that are made for the Fisher Price Toys that children have played with since 1971 , I have developed a QB64 program and Python scripts that take the Heavenly Worship music that you may really like and creating the 3D printing these little disks , the program will actually put all of these little dots in the right places. A new way to spread the Love of God, if you have the time and equipment to do so.

Working on a project to create a Bible Timeline Chart from Creation to Revelation. About 80% complete, has taken almost 2 years. I'm still a little stumped on a few things in Revelation, which I haven't found an answer for yet. For example, many believe that the 144,000 in Rev 7 were sealed to protect them from God's coming wrath (I agree); however, there's a lot of teaching that their purpose was to preach the Gospel to the lost during that period and even during the time of God's wrath. I cannot find one Scripture that supports this. They were sealed and placed somewhere to keep them safe during that time (like Petra), not to go out and preach the Gospel. Also, it doesn't appear that anyone gets saved after God's wrath begins because at the end of the Trumpet judgments and the Bowl justments, it states that "no one repented".
