  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah Nelson! Your recommended book “The Best Things to Do in New York” especially the first timer is mind-boggling. It is best to well aware of the major attractions: Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art. I will read this book to enjoy this tour.

Many museums have one day per week of FREE admission. Check for that before you go.

Some of NYC's best attractions are FREE. Many libraries have free lectures, exhibits, and movies. The Village Voice newspaper used to display a listing of these events. Summer also has lots of FREE concerts such as at Central Park.

A buddy of mine went to NYC recently (like me, he is on a low budget). He took full advantage of those freebies and barely spent a dime in his visit. He took lots of photos of Prospect Park, Brooklyn and other historic sites and really enjoyed himself.

By the way, if you are going to any of the famous restaurants I recommend that you book your reservation NOW before you go.

ENJOY!

I just finished "The Lost Boy" by David Pelzer. Now I'm starting "Saving CeeCee Honeycutt" by Beth Hoffman. That's the book they chose for the book club at church. After that, it will be back to Revan.
