I am currently reading The Alexiad by Anna Komnene. It was written around the year 1148. It is a biographical/historical text written by Anna Komnene, daughter of Byzantine Emperor Alexios I Komnenos.
It gives good information of the Byzantine Empire of the time as well as some details of the First Crusade and some of its leaders
"The Essentials of Prayer." --E.M. Bounds
No, not yet.......it caught my eye because of his profound quotes, that have literally stopped me in my tracks at times. His delving into the depths of prayer is humbling and sobering for me.Excellent choice. Are you reading the series?

Thank you. It’s a really good book. You’ll enjoy it.
I read the Game of Thrones series a while back & learned it was inspired by the War of the Roses, so I got a book from the library called Stormbird. It's part of a historical fiction series based on the War of the Roses. Starting it tonight
I also want to get a Christian book on dating, as well as books on Mormonism & Jehovas Witness, & a book on the apocrypha Bible books
Is that like a history book or does it read like a novel? If you are interested in a one volume history of the War of the Roses I recommend The War of The Roses: The Fall of the Plantagenets and the Rise of the Tudors by Dan Jones
I put a link for the page on Amazon if you want to look at the reviews
