  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i'm re-reading "the outsiders" by s.e. hinton. it's a book that is near and dear to my heart that i have loved for ten years because it speaks so true on relationships...relationships between siblings, family members, friends, and factions of society.

and, ok, i write fanfiction for it, too. :p

I'm reading a few books at the same time. All non-fiction. .. Seeds of Destruction, by William Engdahl (about GM food). The Genesis Record, by Henry Morris, it's a commentary about Genesis. Dark Majesty by Texe Marrs, about the globalist agenda. The Presence of the Past, by Rupert Sheldrake.. this is heavy going, so i read a bit at a time, it's about the 'morphogenic field' theory, where life has a sort of field that determines it's structure and all sorts of other strange stuff. Much brighter that Darwin ever was.

Got a couple that I'm working on now that I'm at home in the States (Man, I was soooooooo happy when I walked into a Borders and could READ all the book titles :) ). Reading "Battle for the Abyss" by Ben Counter, and re-reading "Ciaphas Cain, Hero of the Imperium" by Sandy Mitchell. Waiting in queue are "Storm from the Shadows" by David Webber, and "Phantom" and "Confessor" by Terry Goodkind. Yeah, yeah, I know, lots of SciFi/Fantasy on the list ;).

Storylines: Tracing threads that run through the Bible.

This is a book I would highly recommend to both Christians who are still growing Spiritually and in their faith, as well as the older, more mature Christian. Each chapter is packed with humour, wit, but more importantly, deeply thought through insight, wisdom, and a depth of understanding that every Christian will learn something anew from. I am thoroughly enjoying reading it. Highly recommended...
