Sometime back in junior high I got stuck on the 5th or 6th one, and never picked them up again. The first few seemed pretty good though. I actually read them because the first book was at my grandma's house that she was borrowing from us and there was a book mark in it... I don't know how far she read. But she died when I was thirteen and we got the book back and I wanted to see what she'd read, so I read it.
