  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are you currently listening to?

I am into Paul Weller at the moment, again lol. I was not into Style Council or the Jam but caught a bit of Weller when solo while living in England at the time. Though I still never got into him.

Now learning the guitar I am finding how beautiful his music is and how I under appreciated this music. Especially in that Weller basically created three different personifications of music with different styles changing with the times. Now he is more laid back and bluesy. But still a profound voice and style.

For a contrast his previous music with 'Style Council' YouTube and The Jam

PS Weller is still going and it seems his music is changing again and more bluesy, even a bit country like the Eagles.

I think Dylans song 'It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)' sounds similar to Rodregius 'Establishment Blues'.

Same era I think.
Have you heard this version of Queen Jane?
Listen to that instrumentation!

Not for some time and I love this music. I like his early stuff the best. I like how he transitions from folk hillbilly to blues/folk rock and gospel. Always wanting to reinvent himself.

I can hear a bit of the bands influence with the piano as well. I think he started jaming with them around the same time.

A friend just sent me a song. A Soul version of Eminems 'Without Me'. Bringing back the Soul and Motown. Really good stuff. Its amazing how a genre change is music to the same song can be so different.
