Each thread has its own purpose which is explained in its original post.Well, I won't derail the thread any further by highlighting the singular motive that seems to lie at the heart of your creating threads. If you want to deny having such a history, that's on you. Good luck with your thread.
Not so strange on this particular forum many are driven by or told by a certain other power to do so.Your history of thread topics and the general agenda that you so consistently pursue
No external "power" tells me what to write. Not so strange on this particular forum many are driven by or told by a certain other power to do so.
Yes, I agree. The Law of Moses was given to Israel, and not to any other nation. The 10 Commandments were a subset of the Law of Moses, and also applied to Israel. The 10 commandments were ALL given to Israel !!
Read Rom 13:8 --9 has fulfilled the LAW . and Col 2:16 says to not respect , DRINKING , of a feast day , OR a new Moon or''
or Sabbaths !!

Probably because 95% of the time that's the focus of the OP in threads about the ten commandments. Why did you select the third commandment (sabbath keeping) as the only one to comment upon?
Not in this thread.Probably because 95% of the time that's the focus of the OP in threads about the ten commandments.
You're often intentionally vague in the threads you start, which leads to guessing games and misunderstandings. If you carefully eschew reading your theology into scripture, then you'll have no confusion whatever.
There's nothing unclear in my post. You're often intentionally vague in the threads you start, which leads to guessing games and misunderstandings.
Not to you of course. But to others, obviously so.There's nothing unclear in my post.
They have only to be specific when they ask a question. Not to you of course. But to others, obviously so.
The ten commandments are a part of the Old Covenant Law, and are therefore no longer applicable to the New Testament Christ follower (Gal 4:21-5:6). The Old Covenant has completely been removed, and is no longer applicable to us today. If you do choose to follow the OC, then you must keep EVERY command in it perfectly for your whole life, because violating ANY command in it results in instant condemnation before God as a breaker of the whole thing (James 2:10).To make sure no one mistakes me I shall list the Ten Commandments as they are received by the Catholic Church. The passages from which the list is derived is Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5
Deuteronomy 5:1-21 NASB (1) Then Moses summoned all Israel and said to them: "Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I am speaking today in your hearing, that you may learn them and observe them carefully. (2) "The LORD our God made a covenant with us at Horeb. (3) "The LORD did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, with all those of us alive here today. (4) "The LORD spoke to you face to face at the mountain from the midst of the fire, (5) while I was standing between the LORD and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the LORD; for you were afraid because of the fire and did not go up the mountain. He said,
- (6) 'I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. (7) 'You shall have no other gods before Me. (8) 'You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. (9) 'You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, (10) but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
- (11) 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
- (12) 'Observe the sabbath day to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you. (13) 'Six days you shall labor and do all your work, (14) but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant or your ox or your donkey or any of your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you, so that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. (15) 'You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD your God commanded you to observe the sabbath day.
- (16) 'Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you on the land which the LORD your God gives you.
- (17) 'You shall not murder.
- (18) 'You shall not commit adultery.
- (19) 'You shall not steal.
- (20) 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
- (21) 'You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, and
- you shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field or his male servant or his female servant, his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.'
Surely it is still a sin to kill, commit adultery, worship idols, lie, and so forth? The ten commandments are a part of the Old Covenant Law, and are therefore no longer applicable to the New Testament Christ follower (Gal 4:21-5:6). The Old Covenant has completely been removed, and is no longer applicable to us today. If you do choose to follow the OC, then you must keep EVERY command in it perfectly for your whole life, because violating ANY command in it results in instant condemnation before God as a breaker of the whole thing (James 2:10).
Sure it is, because commandments 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10 have all been restated in the New Covenant as requirements of the New Covenant. But the 4th commandment, and many of the other mandates in the Old Covenant Law (dietary restrictions, priesthood restrictions, sacrificial requirements, feasts and celebrations) have all been excluded from mention in the New Covenant.Surely it is still a sin to kill, commit adultery, worship idols, lie, and so forth?
There's not really much to guess at, the threads almost invariably turn into Catholicism vs other expressions of Christian faith. You're often intentionally vague in the threads you start, which leads to guessing games and misunderstandings.
Same covenant, different form. God is still commanding we put His will ahead of our own which is loving all as self, a simple solution to all sin as described in the 10 C's.The Old Covenant has completely been removed, and is no longer applicable to us toda
Nope. There have been two major covenants between God and man. The Old Covenant (OC) was from Adam to Jesus. When you read the OT, you will find that God renewed the same covenant over and over with each new generation. The covenant made with Abraham was a solidification of the covenant made with Adam after the Fall. That covenant was renewed with Isaac, and again renewed with Jacob, and again renewed with Moses. At Jesus' death the OC was removed and replaced with a New Covenant (NC), just as Jeremiah told us would happen (Jer 31:31-34). The NC is not the same as the OC because it was based on better promises (Heb 8:6) and contains different laws (Heb 7:12).Same covenant, different form. God is still commanding we put His will ahead of our own which is living all as self, a simple solution to all sin as described in the 10 C's.
Put the will of God first and love all as self as a result. Same rules, only new promise was the Kingdom.because it was based on better promises (Heb 8:6) and contains different laws (Heb 7:12).
The Sabbath commandment is about rest for everyone, servant, master are alike, all must have a day of rest, and this is a moral imperative.Sure it is, because commandments 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10 have all been restated in the New Covenant as requirements of the New Covenant. But the 4th commandment, and many of the other mandates in the Old Covenant Law (dietary restrictions, priesthood restrictions, sacrificial requirements, feasts and celebrations) have all been excluded from mention in the New Covenant.
As Paul says, to win the Jews to Christ I lived as a Jew (eating Jewish food, celebrating Jewish holidays, keeping Jewish rituals). But to win the Gentiles to Christ I lived as a Gentile (eating Gentile food, ignoring Jewish rituals and holidays)(1 Cor 9:19-23).
God is within us and if we work we are forcing Him to work on His day off, and we don't even pay overtime.but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work
Clearly you either have not studied the Word of God well enough to have this conversation, or you are so willfully blind to the truth that you won't hear what God says even if it beats you over the head. Go study some more, and come back when you have something worthy of saying.Put the will of God first and love all as self as a result. Same rules, only new promise was the Kingdom.
